Closet Confessions: May Purchases

It’s that time again! Time to come clean about my clothing purchases in May. I’m enjoying doing this each month and you all seem to like it too. If you’re new here, this is a monthly series I started this year in order to help me become more discerning in my purchases. May turned out to be a busy purchasing month for me – let’s get to it!

My first purchase of the month was this linen blend Loft pink shirt for $29.02. Definitely a great purchase. I love the color and the fabric. Washes up like a dream too!

I’ve not purchased anything from Shein in years. But this blazer caught my eye and I went for it. I like it but I don’t love it because it is polyester. I had to iron it when it arrived and it still kind of looked a bit wrinkled. But I do love the color and the ruched sleeves. I paid $25.56.

The Free Assembly brand from Walmart is a favorite of mine. Seriously good quality pieces and the prices are exceptional. I bought these pants in two colors and decided to keep them in the rose shade, the pants were on sale for $18. They are a great dupe for the Spanx version.

While in Nashville, I purchased these Old Navy linen pants for just $20. They were on sale and I had a reward coupon. I love the comfort they offer and the color. They just get better with each washing – they seem to get softer.

I tried on Lisa’s jacket while in Nashville and decided I needed one of my own. This was a splurge but since it’s a piece I will keep for a long time, I felt it was worth the investment. This Chico’s jacket was $98.

Wanda shared this cute top and I was smitten. It’s cute with shorts or jeans and just perfect for Summer. The Old Navy striped top was $21.71.

I was this close to splurging on the AGolde Parker shorts I keep seeing. But paying over $100 for denim shorts had me adding them to my cart and removing them from my cart! Thank goodness ShopBop had these Free People shorts on sale for $43.00. Even at their regular price they are a bargain compared to the AGolde version. I consider these a great purchase.

When I find something I love, I stalk it. Enter the JCrew Factory linen blazer. Originally I wanted it in white but it went on sale and was sold out in my size. Pink was available and I could not say no. I am thrilled with this blazer – bought it in a size 8 and paid $77.22 for it.

Along with the JCrew Factory linen blazer, I bought these pants. They are a slimmer fit than the Old Navy version and a great alternative to wearing shorts. I purchased a size 4 and paid $36.22.

The final purchase of the month these Old Navy white shorts for $12.00. These are a replacement for my old pair, they were really too short and needed to go.

My total for the month? $380.73. My total for the year so far is: $1804.75. You can check out my other Closet Confessions here: April, March, February, and January. My total for the year may seem like a lot to some, it may seem like hardly anything to others, that’s okay. I am not looking for external validation of any type; I do this to share, honestly, what I spend, why I spend it and to learn a little something along the way.

Thanks so much for stopping by today friends, it means the world to me!
