Central Florida has skipped winter this year and moved right on into spring, actually late spring. Our temperatures are high (mid 80’s) and humid. Days of wearing pants and long sleeves are numbered. So while it’s a great time to scoop up sweaters and boots while the discounts are deep it just doesn’t make sense for me. What does make sense is shopping for cute dresses I can wear now and when it gets even hotter.

The dress I am sharing today is so stinkin’ cute I can hardly contain myself. I have to credit a new to me blogger Nicole for this find. She’s a curvy blogger who shares the most affordable and cute pieces. The short sleeves are extra special with that sweet little ruffle! My wedges are perfectly comfortable and cute for any spring time soiree (or trip to Target).
Initially I had my doubt about the baby doll style working on me. Having a larger chest means that sometimes pieces “tent” on me and I look pregnant. I guess the good news about being over 50 is that no one asks me if I’m expecting! Glad I gave this one a shot because I really like it.
This time of year while cool fronts are still a possibility, a denim jacket and booties would work really well this dress. That is actually how I planned to wear it to church yesterday. However, it was so hot when I put on the jacket I knew it would be coming off. But I wanted you to see just how cute it looked!
I couldn’t help but add my lace duster/kimono and hat. Again, just another perfect way to change up the look of this dress. Hats are great anytime I’m out in the sun and this time of year we enjoy dining out and any kind of outdoor art festival or farmer’s market.
I just love a dress for just about any season that can be styled so many ways, don’t you? This dress appears to be sold out in the khaki print I am wearing but it comes in 3 other color options. For reference I am wearing a size medium and it has plenty of room (I’m 5’5″ 137 pounds).
What do you think about this style of dress? I think just about any body style could wear this dress well. When it heats up a dress keeps me cooler than shorts and I have fallen in love with this style!
