As much as I love shopping I love a good dupe. What’s a dupe? Basically an item that’s available at a better price than it’s more expensive counterpart. Today I’m sharing a few I’ve recently scored as well as my tips for scoring your own!
First up is this Varsity Tee from Nordstrom. I really like it and the $45 price tag isn’t terrible but I rarely spend that much on tees. When I stopped in Old Navy a few weeks ago to try and exchange my jacket I spotted this alternative. I tried it on in a small and it was too tight in the arms but the medium was perfect. The price was tag was even better and it will serve my purposes! Take a look at the two ways I plan to wear it now and later!
See the thing about a tee like this one is that it’s the perfect weight for a Florida girl like me. By layering a white button up underneath (or even my beloved gingham) it transitions beautifully to cooler weather!
So this next top was inspired by this look from Hi Sugarplum! I’ve been a long time reader of Cassie’s blog and her style.
Here’s the thing, I have all the pieces to re-create the look! I own the necklace and white denim. I tried buying the top but it wasn’t available in my size. Lucky me when I spotted this top in raspberry! It was love at first sight and I saved money!
So here are a few of my tips for finding the look for less:
1. Decide what your willing to spend and if this item is in fact worth the price. For me I really cannot get less expensive shoes; these days I need the comfort and special features (hello memory foam footbed) of brand name shoes.
2. Take or save a picture of the item you want.
3. Assuming it’s online, stalk the website regularly to see when it goes on sale.
4. Check less expensive retailers (like Old Navy) for similar items.
What are your favorite ways to shop the look for less? I’d love to know!
