Today let’s tackle the question of, are two pieces better than one? I’d like to refer to it as the ‘age old question’ but that seems dramatic. It is a question worth asking though, would you rather have a two piece coordinating set or a romper?

Two Piece Coordinating Set
Two pieces can certainly be better than one when it comes to versatility. After all you can wear them together or separately. Let’s look at the pros and cons of the two piece set.

PROS
*versatility
*buying two separate pieces allows you to buy a different size in the top and bottom
CONS
*requires a little thinking – do you want to wear it as a coordinating set or wear the pieces separately
*could potentially cost more than the one piece
I’ve shared this two piece set from Target before but it is worth mentioning again. One of the reasons I like it so much is because the solid color and basic cut provide endless possibilities. The top is a basic button down with short sleeves and the shorts pull on and have pockets – see what I mean? Very basic.
One Piece Romper
I don’t own too many rompers, in fact I have just this one. But I do enjoy it. Purchased several years ago from Amazon, it’s a favorite purchase. Even though it is one piece and black, I have found ways to change up the look enough so that it feels fresh and not boring. I suggest always replacing the belt that comes with your romper with one of your own – it instantly elevates the look!
Let’s look at the pros and cons of the one piece romper.
PROS
*One and done – doesn’t get any easier than that!
*price can be better than buying separates
CONS
*Bathroom access – I don’t need to elaborate on this, it’s self explanatory
*requires some planning and creativity to change the look
*may not provide as much versatility and can lead you to feeling like you’re wearing the same old thing over and over again!
On Saturday I published a reel about my romper, take a look to see how I used accessories to change it up! On Sunday I wore it to a surprise party for a friend of my husband’s. Sadly, I have no pictures of either of those occasions to post here. I took these yesterday!

Your Turn, Which is Better?
What do you prefer? Two pieces or one? Maybe both? At the end of the day I think there’s room for both in our wardrobes but considering the pros and cons may be beneficial. Take a look in your closet – is it full of rompers and jumpsuits? Or is that something that’s missing? The right balance between the two is the sweet spot.
