On Monday you saw these for the first time. A bit of a tease then but not now. Here’s a whole post dedicated to them, my new premium denim and how to style them!
Styling Wide Leg Trouser Jeans
Why Buy A Trouser Jean
You’ll see that styling trouser jeans is easy. There are some things to consider, like the fabric and the fit – but once you’ve worked that out, all the fun can happen. A trouser jean offers the comfort of a jean but the style of a trouser – the perfect combo of casual and dressy! A trouser jean is amore sophisticated jean that has a wider waistband and is fitted through the hips and rear. The trouser jean offers a nice alternative for those of us wanting to wear white denim but not loving anything too clingy or tight.

How I Found Mine
I have a pair of boot cut white pants from Express that I love wearing. That made me start thinking that a more casual pair would be a good fit in my current wardrobe. I hunted and pecked and found this pair at Bloomingdale’s. After reading the reviews I ordered a size 28. They are high waisted and described as a trouser jean. Definitely an investment but well worth it for me, however, there are many options at all different price points. This style will be one I can wear for years to come so I feel as strongly as owning them as most do about their skinny jeans – they will always have a place and will never be ‘out’ of style.
If you are looking for a more budget friendly option, try this pair from Target. They look a lot like mine – right down to the pockets in the front. Here are some options for you:
Styling the Trouser Jean
As you saw on Monday, a button up looks great with the trouser jean. Thinking of creating that hour glass silhouette, I added the belt and tucked my shirt in – in fact, one look I don’t love is a long shirt left out with a jean like this one. So I would avoid a tunic.

Dress up the trouser jean with a blazer and a cool graphic tee! I didn’t add a belt and rather than tuck the tee, I knotted it in the back. Kinda wish I wore a belt!

Denim on denim may not be your thing, but what if one of the denims was white? Might just be the thing to make you take the plunge!

Trying to conceal a tummy? Try a peplum top – your waist will get a makeover too if it has a tie and v-neck!

A mock neck top with a 3/4 sleeve is a great pick for Spring. This one is ribbed and comes in a total of 6 colorways making it a great wardrobe basic.

A monochromatic look is always a good idea! Easy to do and the pay off is so chic and sophisticated. I am obsessed with this poplin top!

So, what do you think about the trouser jean? Is there a place for this type of pant in your wardrobe? Personally I like the mix of casual-yet-dressier-than-jeans vibe!
