Today is all about real leather, there’s nothing like it, right? Combine this sumptuous material with my favorite item of clothing and just like that – the Marilyn black leather blazer appears!
Marilyn Black Leather Blazer
The Marilyn black leather blazer was gifted to me by The Jacket Maker. A little background about the brand, shall we? The founder of The Jacket Maker was tired of having to choose between paying exorbitant prices for a good leather jacket and a fast fashioned, inexpensive but poor quality one. Some research into the process showed that a large part of the price went towards paying the middle man. By cutting out all of the extras, The Jacket Maker was able to design a high quality leather jacket at an accessible price point.
The Marilyn leather blazer comes in both black and tan. I chose black. The sizes range from XXS- 3XL. I am wearing it in a small. They do offer the option to customize sizing as well. When the blazer arrived it was neatly packaged and included a few goodies like a garment bag, a leather notebook, and a car freshener. Let me tell you, the leather smell was amazing!
Wearing the Leather Blazer
It’s still pretty warm here in Orlando so I wore the leather blazer over a dress. You remember this dress from last week, well here’s yet another way to style it! I decided on an old pair of sock boots (similar) because I felt it looked more balanced. A full leather blazer over a shorter dress is fine but wouldn’t make much sense with bare legs in my opinion. So a slim fitting boot to the rescue!
The nice thing about real leather is that it’s breathable. Contrary to what you might think, I was not a sweaty mess while taking these pictures. We took a ton trying to get it right. I really wanted you to see the details on this blazer. The lapel, the buttons, the pockets. It is very well made.
I did cuff the sleeves because they were a tad long. Once it gets colder this will come in handy – every wardrobe needs a good leather jacket or coat. One that is timeless, not trendy. An investment piece that gets better with age. I firmly believe that.
I want to thank The Jacket Maker for this blazer. If you are interested in one for yourself, check them out. They also have a line of men’s leather jackets and blazers. What a great Christmas gift this would make!
