Even though the temperature isn’t changing anytime soon and Fall will not officially arrive until September, the start of school has everyone ready for a new season. Fall bridges the gap between Summer and Winter and that means with a few tweaks we have hero pieces we can wear now and then later. The linen shirt dress is one piece so versatile I just had to share with you how I will wear it now and wear it later!
Wear it Now, Wear it Later the Linen Shirt Dress
Why I resisted buying this dress for so long is beyond me. I knew I liked the style but I was hesitant when it came to actually completing the purchase. The linen shirt dress is available at different price points and I found myself debating if the budget friendly option was as good as it seemed. Finally when Prime Day rolled around I realized how ridiculous I had been because Amazon makes returns so easy. Turns out I had nothing to worry about, the dress is worth every penny, great quality and superb fit!
Initially I ordered the dress in a medium but returned it for a small. It has pockets and comes in 5 colorways. It’s extremely size inclusive – it’s available in an XXS through 5X. The brand is The Drop and you can order this dress as part of the Prime Try Before You Buy program.
Wear it Now
The good thing about a shirt dress is that it is so versatile. It can be worn as is or belted. Unbutton it and wear it over a bathing suit or shorts and a tank. Not only a dress, it serves as a layering piece. That’s key for wearing it now and later.
For Summer, I like pairing it with rattan accessories. I pulled out all I had – a belt, bracelets, and bag. It’s also a great dress worn completely alone – no belt and minimal gold accessories.
Wear it Later
The slightest change in temperature gets this Florida girl giddy. So at the first sign of a cool-ish temperature I pull out the layers. Among my beloved blazers and cardigans, the linen shirt dress is entering the rotation. I like the simple, yet chic vibe when worn over denim – white or blue! I added the booties – the only purchase I made and kept from the Nordstrom sale this year.
Do you have those pieces in your wardrobe you can wear now and then wear later? It usually requires just a few tweaks and maybe a little imagination but you can stretch your wardrobe.
