What is it about the first week of January and wanting to redecorate my home and get rid of everything? Is it just me? Maybe it’s the cleaning up after Christmas but I’m looking at everything with new eyes. This may not be especially good for those I live with – especially my husband who, if he had his druthers would have left everything in our home untouched for the 30 years we’ve lived here. Thank goodness he has me to brighten up his life – ha!
Anyway, the first week of January has me recounting a few of my favorites. This may come as a surprise but none are actually home decor related.
Friday Favorites – First Week of January!
This may be a weird place to start but these underwear are a favorite! I had been wearing these for years but found these in December. I figured they would be too good to be true but I was wrong. I immediately ordered more and for me there will be no going back. They are comfortable, have a cotton crotch, and they’re seamless. No visible panty lines either and the price is phenomenal!
Have you seen these yet? I have to admit I have not YET placed an order but that is only because I am trying to decide between the embellished ones or these. I’m fairly certain I will go with these because they seem more wearable for every day. I have watched a few Tik Tok videos of women who suggest buying shirts at the thrift store and cutting them but I haven’t tried that yet. Have you? I think what causes hesitation for me is that these have an elastic to help them stay put and if I cut a shirt it would be moving around – I don’t sew.
I ordered these joggers and fell in love! How cute will they be for Valentine’s Day and beyond?? They also come in black with white trim but pink and red are a favorite combo for me so I could hardly say no. I bought a small and the fit is perfect.
Speaking of favorites, these jeans arrived the other day and they are already a favorite. The style is on trend and so are the stripes. They still have a classic appeal to me so they won’t be a one hit wonder. I ordered a 4 petite because I wanted them to actually look cropped. I can wear them with booties now but they will look terrific with flats, heels, sneakers, pretty much everything! Check out the sweater here.
I’ll end with a few favorites from Christmas. Our younger son gave my husband and I these books. I love that he wants to know more about us! I also love that it’s a paper and pencil kind of thing as well. He also gave one to my mom and it’s perfect since she doesn’t really understand tech as well as she thinks she does!
And of course, these two getting engaged was the icing on the cake of a great holiday!
Well, that seems a good place to end. We are all still on cloud nine that they are engaged and so happy! No wedding plans for quite some time but we’re basking in the glory of this special time for them. Since our boys were babies I have not only prayed for them but their future spouses. To see prayers answered in this way will always be a favorite!
