Welcome to this week’s edition of Friday Favorites! I don’t often dedicate a Friday post to one product but I am today. This fast drying hair dryer works AND is affordable, so it’s worthy of it’s own post!
Fast Drying Ionic Hair Dryer
One of the topics that comes up often around here is my hair! Or lack thereof! Did you catch Monday’s post? Anyway…with the fine, thin hair I have I refuse to pay high prices for tools like curling irons and dryers. I completely understand my friends who do – they have thick, luscious hair and the right tool makes a big difference.
For several years I have used this type of dryer. But in my quest to protect and strengthen my hair I have upped my game to include better shampoo and conditioner and I started re-thinking my approach to drying. Maybe one of the reasons I seem to be ‘shedding’ so much hair is because I am pulling it with the brush attachment? When I started hearing about Ionic dryers I was intrigued, less time drying means less exposure to heat. The one caveat was that the dryer had to be affordable. I cannot share a $300 hair tool because there is no way I’d buy that for myself.
Maxodo Ionic Hair Dryer
I was offered the Maxodo Ionic Hair Dryer to review. One of the reasons I said yes was because the product sounded good and the price was right. The company was transparent with me, this is what they had to say:

Not that I’ve ever held a Dyson but I quite like that they are honest, for this price you are NOT getting a Dyson. You are getting a fast, efficient dryer, it’s quiet and gentle. My hair seems happy! I am happy that it’s lightweight and compact and very pretty! That sounds silly I know but it’s aesthetically pleasing! I chose purple although it does come in other colors.
Some of the benefits of this dryer include the digital motor that dries hair quickly and the smart-thermo control system that measures airflow temperature over 100 times per second to keep your hair from extreme heat damage. The hair caring ionic technology used generates 200 million ions per cubic centimeter to neutralize static electricity and enhance smoothness and shine. This dryer is also made with noise reducing technology which is a welcome feature to me!
You can also control the temperature! The indicator light let’s you know what temperature air you are using. You use the button to select the right temperature. Green is cool air, Orange is warm air, Red is hot air, and Yellow is hot & cool air. The dryer has two speeds – low and high.
Here is the after, immediately after drying. My hair does seem smoother and there are fewer fly aways. I think the ionic technology does deliver smoother, shinier hair!
Have curly hair? Try the dryer with the diffuser. Mine has just a removable nozzle but it does the job and doe sit well. My new dryer is now a part of my healthy hair routine. I am hoping that over time I can report back less breakage and split ends.
