Friday Favorites - October 10

Hellooooooo Friday! Glad you’re here friends and welcome to today’s mish mosh of all the things that had me smiling this week!

Mah Jong

I think I mentioned it before that I am learning to play Mah Jong. Do you play? It is absolutely nothing like I thought it would be and while I’m still not certain I will ever think it’s a lot of fun I am enjoying it. I am using parts of my brain I don’t use nearly enough and I enjoy a good challenge. Right now my sorority’s alumnae association has an open Mah Jong night once a month. We eat and then chat and then torture ourselves trying to learn the game, lol, that’s just me feeling tortured! Anyway, on Monday night I won both games! Who am I????

Progress Not Perfection

Each weekday morning I am up very early to get my work out in. On M, W, and F I meet my friends in the parking lot of the gym and we walk about 3.5 miles before I go to Boot Camp (it’s a HIIT class). On Thursdays and Fridays we meet and just walk, usually about 5.25 miles. On the weekends I walk alone. Needless to say I am dedicated and I do not miss workouts.

However, saying yes to weeknight Mah Jong means I get to bed a little later than usual. I decided to sleep in and walk on my own on Tuesday. This meant I didn’t quite have the time to do my whole walk but I did more than half. Progress not perfection is what it’s all about and that is definitely a favorite!

Library Book

My library does home delivery for free and I take advantage of it when I can since our branch is so tiny. It is awesome but I never know when or even if the book I requested is coming. On Wednesday this book showed up and I love it so far!

Favorite New Necklace

Gosh I love a good accessory! I noticed these multi layer beaded necklaces months ago but they were all so expensive. An online boutique, Willow Tree, has a much more affordable version. I ordered this a few weeks ago and it finally arrived. I love it and am finding myself planning outfits around it!

New Wig, New Hair Topper

I have really enjoyed sharing my hair loss/thinning journey with everyone! It’s nice to know that people are listening and taking notice. Wigshe reached out to me a few months ago and offered to send me a wig. Of course I said YES! The details on this wig: Custom color//12 inches//100% Remy Human Hair//120% density//lace front cap//invisible lace. They also gave me a code to share that will save you 10% – the code is: Kellyann.

If you saw yesterday’s post you saw my new hair topper. It’s from Uniwigs. It is very light in color and reminds me of when I used to get my hair colored and it was way too light. I enjoy wearing this topper but having my natural color underneath. I never want to go back to high maintenance hair again – ha! I guess that is another perk of helper hair! Uniwigs gave me a code as well, Kelly15 and it will save you 15%.

Do Yourself a Favor

I rarely tell you that you NEED something. But I am making an exception. This two piece set is too good to miss out on AND the price is so good. If not for you, then I bet it would make a great gift for someone you know. Size down one in the pants. This feels like Spanx Air Essentials, soft and cool but it’s under $40 for both pieces. I wore it a few times this week! It does come in a few other colors and in sizes XS – 4X. I bought a size small in both pieces but an XS in the pants would have been better. Check out the top and the pants.

That wraps up this week’s list of favorites. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get the relaxation and joy that is coming your way!
