I know it happens. You hear the word and you immediately think long, voluminous tunics and crazy prints. I see it on Instagram profiles: “too old for Forever 21 too young for Chico’s” – what does that mean? There are no age requirements for shopping any one retailer or another yet it is inferred. I am here to tell you friends, Chico’s is not frumpy!
Chico’s is Not Frumpy
Listen – anything can look a certain way – edgy, classy, trashy, frumpy – it’s all in how you style it! But Chico’s is not frumpy. Need proof? Take a look at some of my favorite pieces from Chico’s and please tell me – do I look frumpy? I’ve been called a lot of things in my 55 years but frumpy has never been one. Even over the 20 years I drove mini vans!
Chico’s Sizing
Chico’s sizing is unlike any other. Sizes are inclusive – they start with a 000 and go up to a size 4. In standard sizes, this translates to sizes 0 to 22. They also carry petites and some items in tall as well. Check the size chart to find your perfect size!
Stylish Chico’s
Let’s start with a definition of the word “frumpy” – it means old fashioned and dowdy. Now keep that in mind and let me know in the comments if you think any of the following looks are old fashioned and dowdy, m’kay? I have a feeling you will be agreeing with me – Chico’s is not frumpy!
The best button ups – the no iron collection come from Chico’s. They have some stretch and always look polished and chic! P.S. how cute is my Teddy Blake bag with this outfit? Use my code TBKellyann30 for $30 off any bag.

These are my newest pieces from Chico’s. I had a reward and they were on sale. The Brigitte wide leg pants are new to the line and I love them. The wide leg isn’t too wide, they have pockets and they are super comfortable. But this cute seersucker shirt with the raw edge trim and ruffle is my favorite!

Oh look! It’s another no-iron shirt! And longer shorts from Chico’s!

This dress is from the Zenergy line. It has built in UPF and is athleisure perfection!

This longer denim jacket has such a flattering cut. I love the slightly longer length and how it really pulls an outfit together. I get compliments each time I wear it along with a surprised look when I say it’s from Chico’s. It appears to be sold out but there are lots of other denim jacket options.

These girlfriend jeans are far from frumpy! They are from the no-stain line and gosh, they are fabulous!

So? What do you think? I know what I think – I love Chico’s. Just like any brand, you find pieces that fit your style. My personal favorites are the no-iron shirts and the Brigitte pants collection. I now own the slim Brigitte pants, wide leg Brigitte pants, and the Brigitte long shorts. They have hidden tummy control and are super comfortable!
Chico’s Semi Annual Sale is going on now so it’s a great time to shop. Honestly I feel like these are all good basic pieces. They are well made and not at all trendy so you can wear them year after year! Shop it all here.
