This week I’ve got several holiday parties to attend so you better believe I’ve been outfit planning for some time. One event in particular, on Saturday, had me scratching my head as to what to wear. It’s a brunch and the hostess asked us to wear red. Really shouldn’t be so hard, right? Anyway, that led me to this Chic Holiday Look from cabi (and yes, the “c” in cabi is lowercase, it’s not a typo).
Chic Holiday Look from cabi
I first heard of cabi a number of years ago. At the time they had home parties and the stylist presented several pieces in the form of an at home trunk show. Well, times have changed! While cabi still offers trunk shows, you can now order online!
To help get the word out, cabi has offered collaborations to influencers like me. I was thrilled to participate. Previous cabi purchases always impressed me and the quality was superb! The collaboration was on Instagram but since I liked the pieces so much, I decided to do a blog post as well. This is not a sponsored post but the items were gifted to me.
Red Velvet Trousers & Jacket from cabi
Knowing I had an engagement coming up that required me to wear red and that fact that I am positively wild about a jacket and trouser look, selecting this outfit took less than 5 minutes! My eye was immediately drawn to the color, texture, and cut. Does anything say chic holiday look like velvet pieces in classic cuts and styling? I think not!
The Ford jacket & trousers are made of cherry colored stretch velvet. The jacket is unlined, has a shawl collar and single button closure. It also has small shoulder pads to help add shape and definition. The trousers have a high rise and subtle flair – they are extremely flattering and come in 2 different lengths: regular and long. I found them to run big – I am wearing a size 2 in regular length in the pants and a size small in the jacket.
Noble Blouse by cabi
The Noble blouse by cabi is sheer with ruffles down the front. They are strategically placed and I felt comfortable wearing a nude bra with the blouse. It’s also cut to hit right at the waist so tucking is not required. The fabric feels very luxe and this blouse is a stunner! I am wearing it in a small.
Accessories to Finish the Look
I tied the J’Adore scarf around my waist instead of using a belt. It’s fun and whimsical print with a pretty pink background. The Fable necklace and earrings are gold tone with a charm and rhinestones. Such a fun set, the necklace can be worn layered or the two chains can be separated. The earrings are lightweight and just the right size to show up without being too overpowering.
For More Versatility Wear the Separates Alone
The nice thing about two piece sets like the Ford trousers and jacket is that you can wear the pieces separately. On Saturday I paired the pants with this plaid button up. It creates a more casual look but it’s still elevated because of the velvet fabric.
