It’s time for a wardrobe recap of what I wore in Greece now that we’ve returned. I told you about the trip here and just returned late Monday night. It was a wonderful trip full of all kinds of sights and experiences I never thought I’d have! I’ll certainly get to a trip recap but for right now, let’s see what I wore!
What I Wore in Greece
As soon as I book any kind of travel, I start thinking of what I will wear and what I’ll pack. It’s a daunting task for me because I live in a climate that hardly changes, it’s always hot. The minute I hear any kind of temp below 80 degrees Fahrenheit I panic, thinking I’ll be freezing.
When we traveled to the UK in 2019 I learned that layers are key! Since this trip was a tour and we’d be changing locations almost daily, I also knew I didn’t want to overpack but wanted to be sure things would mic and match – almost like a capsule wardrobe. It’s also very important to me that I like the clothes I am wearing and that they match my style personality. I’m not a jeans and t-shirt girl on the daily and I don’t wear yoga pants and tees on repeat either so my travel wardrobe is not going to look like that. Let me emphasize here that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that if you are a jeans and t-shirt lady. The point I am making is this: you will be happier when you travel if you are wearing clothes you like and feel comfortable in!
The Daily Outfits
I tried to snap photos each day of what I was wearing and I filmed reels to capture what we did each day, you can see those here. I am just going to pop the photos in here without explanation, because honestly we were doing a lot of the same thing each day – touring! The only day I did not get a picture was our travel day home on Monday – I don’t know how I missed it but I did. In any case, I wore a two piece set from Express that I purchased last December, it is their version of scuba material and similar to what I think Spanx Air Essentials is like. This set from Amazon is similar (from what I hear!).
What I Couldn’t Live Without
That’s dramatic I know but there are a few things I’d be lost without! My belt bag from Lululemon. This held everything and was so comfortable to wear. My Madewell Transport tote is my constant travel companion, I know a lot of people prefer a back pack but not me. This hold so much and I don’t mind carrying it. Backpacks have to be worn with care and attention, it’s easy to forget how much your overstuffed backpack sticks out. Hitting into people and bumping into them.
My Clara Sunwoo blazer and my Chico’s no-iron shirt were such stars! I use packing cubes – I also wear by these – and when I took them out, the wrinkles disappeared within minutes. The liquid leather leggings from Clara Sunwoo were also so comfortable.
I only packed two pair of sneakers and that is all I needed! In fact I may just bring one pair when we go to Italy in March. I did pack a pair of Vionic slides to wear in the hotel room but I found that our hotels all had slippers for us to wear and I wore those instead.
My favorite jewelry was worn each day and I got several compliments. The only days I left my jewelry off were the ones involving planes. Like when we flew back to Athens from Santorini and then on our flight home. I didn’t want to have to deal with taking things on and off. My favorite baseball cap was worn a ton!
The compression socks I wore in 2019 came along with me and I purchased several more pairs. They really are so comfortable and my feet and legs felt great when I wore them. My favorites are this brand, I bought two pair from Target and they are fine but these are better- more compression for sure.
I found that my Lady Jacket from JCrew, shacket, and my blazer from Express were perfect for keeping me warm. They traveled well and didn’t wrinkle!
If you have any kind of travel coming up, I hope this helps!
