If leggings had a dressier, more polished cousin they’d be called cargo joggers. Frankly I’m not sure that sentence is grammatically correct but it’s the only way I know to convey my thoughts. There are joggers, there are cargo pants and when the two combine to create a cargo jogger all I can think is that I prefer them over leggings. Hmmmm…anyway, today I’m sharing how I’m styling cargo joggers.
Styling Cargo Joggers
Like joggers with an edge, cargo joggers are easy to style. Basically anytime you’d wear a legging or a jogger you can wear these. This pair is from Banana Republic Factory. They are made of a tencel fabric and come in lots of colors. I am wearing them in a medium but need a small(I actually have them clipped in the back with a giant binder clip). The fit is generous and thanks to the fabrication, they feel so luxurious! Mine are in the shade plateau beige camel but there are a total of 7 colorways. Sizes run from XXS – XXL. They are on sale too making them an even better deal than normal!
Three Outfit Ideas with Cargo Joggers
This versatile style is so easy to dress up. Either with a heel or bootie they could be worn to work or out to dinner. Add a pretty blouse and accessories and you are done! No belt needed thanks to the drawstring waist. P.S. these might just be the perfect Thanksgiving Day pants!
Add a sweater or jacket for warmth. I added a brown long cardigan and really like how it pulls the whole look together. This is the second longer cardigan I’ve purchased this season from Target. They are the perfect length, have no pockets (add bulk), and they are lightweight.
Cargo Joggers Instead of Leggings
I am completely in the minority here but I don’t really love leggings. Maybe I am tired of seeing tunics and leggings or just seeing them worn so sloppily that I am over them. I have a pair from Clara Sunwoo that I like just fine but on a daily basis I prefer something less tight and clingy. A jogger, or better yet, a cargo jogger seems like a more elevated and stylish way to wear a casual pant, what do you think?
