Then and Now: Jeans

Jill and I are back again this week with a topic we can all relate to I’m sure, jeans. I don’t know too many women – other than my mother- who don’t love a great pair. Let’s take a look at them then and now!

Jeans Then

Skinny, distressed, low rise, colored denim…I wore them all! My father teased me about the distressed denim I’d wear, often telling me he’d lend me money if I needed it. Now when I slip on a pair I chuckle at the memory.

Remember these kinds of jeans? Did you wear them too?

Updated Jeans

Over the last few years I have learned a little bit more about what types of jeans work best on my body. That honestly is what matters most after all. Maybe the jeans above could be re-styled today and they might look amazing. I won’t know because they are long gone.

I have traded my skinny jeans for slim, straight leg denim. I think it’s a better cut. I don’t care for low rise and I don’t like ultra high rise either. A high raise or mid rise works best. My favorite jeans right now are from Avara. They rival my denim from Good American – I love those too! Avara has a great selection of denim, in lots of styles and washes that are well priced, check them all out here. Don’t forget to use my code THISBLONDE15 to save 15%.

Distressed still interests me, but as long as it’s not too distressed. I don’t want my knee completely exposed – minimal distressing is more my style.

Colored denim used to be all the rage but lately I’m keeping things a little more neutral. I’ll do black denim, white denim, and of course ecru (you saw those on Monday).

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I appreciate you being here. Please consider signing up to receive my posts by email and following me on Instagram and Pinterest.
