With so much attention on how to dress for the holidays, let’s not forget the all important even of Christmas morning. There will be photos taken, right? For me this means I want to be presentable. Now that we have 2 adult sons our Christmas morning is more relaxed. We no longer have little boys in our room at 5am begging to get up! However, I still like to take my time getting ready for the day. So this year I have decided to wear my J.Crew pajamas for Christmas morning.
J.Crew Pajamas for Christmas Morning
Our Christmas Eve tends to run late. We go to church at 5pm and then head to my sister’s house for my family’s annual celebration. It is so much fun and we dress to the nine’s! No one wants the evening to end but eventually it does and we make our way home.

Christmas morning starts with coffee for me and I throw a breakfast casserole in the oven along with cinnamon rolls. We sip mimosas and open presents. A shower comes later before we get ready to head back to my sister’s house for dinner.
It dawned on me a few years ago that I looked absolutely horrid in our Christmas morning photos! This is what happens when you live in a house of all men. They look the same. All. The. Time. Me minus hair and make up? Drastically different. Add in a pair of pajamas that are just meh and yeah, I’ll be steering clear of the camera. Those are not the memories I want to have. Clearly, it was time to up my game.
Tartan Plaid Pajamas
First things first: I do not like knit pajamas. At all. They pill, they cling, they fade, they look cheap after a few wears. I’ve spent money on more expensive varieties all with the same result. I prefer cotton. Old Navy has some great cotton sleep shorts that I would pair with a cute Christmas tee. Flannel is too hot for me – it is rarely cold enough on Christmas for something so warm.
J.Crew tartan plaid is so classic and timeless. When I saw the cotton poplin version on sale last year after Christmas I bought them immediately. I am so happy to say that they are on sale now with an additional 30-40% off for a limited time!

The pants have a drawstring waist. They have contrasting trim and ooze elegance! I am wearing them in a small and the fit is perfect. I threw on my Willa loafers and love the way this came together. If you missed my review of the Willa loafers check it out here.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you have a favorite type of pajama I’d love to hear about it. I’m finding that my taste in pj’s seems to be leaning more towards luxury as I age. That makes me laugh since I used to be a sleep in a tee shirt kinda gal! Happy Monday my friends, make today a great one!
