First Friday of August Favorites

And just like that we have entered the 8th month of the year! Holy cow, I’m afraid I’ll blink and it will be Christmas. Enough of all of that, let’s get to the First Friday of August Favorites!

My love language is time. The way to my heart is spending time with me! I’ve been very intentional lately about making plans with people I care about, love, and want to see more of. Monday night we went to Bingo with these three!

My sweet niece’s boyfriend was a great sport! The poor guy had a bad case of swimmer’s ear (you can see the cotton ball in his ear) but came anyway. I loved his shirt and it must have brought him some luck because he won a round!

What a fun night! Before they all head back to school we hope to go one more time together.

A few other ways I have been intentional about spending time with people I care about: last weekend my husband and I went to dinner with a friend of mine and her husband. It was the first time we went out together and we had a great time! On Sunday my husband had plans that would take him away all day so I invited a friend over. We hung out and talked all day – it was wonderful! Then last night I went to Bunco. My ladies group at church started a Bunco group that meets monthly. I really enjoy this time together and am so very grateful for these friendships.

Like I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I have two pair of Aerosoles that I have really enjoyed wearing. My PF doesn’t act up, the heel height is good and very walkable and they are stylish! They have a flash sale happening now with FREE SHIPPING! I ordered this pair in Gingerbread leather for fall. Honestly, when you look at the name you know I HAD to get them!!! That’s my son Collin on the wakeboard, now you see why I had to get the shoes. Name them after my child and I’m gonna buy them every time!

What I’m Looking Forward to in August

For some reason I don’t get excited about August. It might be because of all the years that it meant going back to school/work. Now that I work year round it really doesn’t make much of a difference in my life. But still, August, I just don’t love you. Anyway…I am planning things to look forward to this month so I can change my mindset! I have a trip coming up that has me giddy!!!

I’m looking forward to fall fashion! Even though it will still be boiling hot here, my mind says dress for a new season. I was thrilled to see that Walmart had re-stocked one of my favorite cardigan sweaters. I grabbed it in pink – I already own it in blue and cream. I bought an XS this time so it would be a little shorter on me. The quality on this is seriously so good. The price is incredible too!

I’m also eyeing a few pieces from Avara. Since it’s still hot and humid, I make the leap to fall fashion with color. There are a few tops I am drooling over, specifically this one and this one. I like that they would work well casually or dressed up – with denim, off white, pretty much all the bottoms!! You can use my code THISBLONDE15 to save on your first order.
