Friday you handsome devil, I am happy to see you! Welcome, friends! Today I thought I’d share some of my favorite outfits with you as well as a few other things that have caught my eye.
Lately I have been on a purging frenzy. I literally want to get rid of everything and all the excess makes my stomach sick. So you’ve seen my posts lately where I am focusing on building a working wardrobe of great basics. My style personality is emerging and I’m finding (after almost 54 years on the planet) that what I want my style to say about me is elegant, chic, sophisticated. By focusing my attention on what really suits me, I have created and worn some favorite outfits!
Favorite Outfits Lately
Although I had not really planned it this way, this first outfit would be a great option for Valentine’s Day. Truth be told when I worked in a brick and mortar school, this would be how I’d dress for the “holiday” – I was never one to wear anything that looked too costume like since at any time I’d be dealing with child protection services, law enforcement, or parents.
This pink blazer is a favorite and comes in other colors besides pink. It’s a bit on the thick side so I can only wear it in winter and spring but I do love it. The striped shirt was a major clearance score from JCrew. Such a classic that will work year round for me. The denim was featured yesterday. This is the perfect pair for me!
On Sunday we had tickets to a Johnny Cash tribute band concert. Dressed and ready in all black, my husband and I were so excited! Once we arrived we were told that the band was snowed in and the concert has been rescheduled for March. Bummer! But I do know what I’ll be wearing!
Thanks to cooler weather this week, I was able to wear my faux leather leggings and sweater vest! I love the longer sweater vest and the sneakers; comfortable and looked good while running errands.
More looks with denim and a long cardigan! One of the smartest shoe choices I made was buying these loafers from Walking Cradles. They are not only comfortable but super cute and I’m seeing loafers more and more!
The outift on the right was worn yesterday. It started with wanting to wear the bodysuit. It’s a recent purchase from Walmart (online) and was only $8! I’m wearing it in a small and I highly recommend it. A bodysuit is so good for slimming the appearance of your midsection. This one is super comfortable too!
Other Favorite Things
A couple of other favorite things that I wanted to share this week: this candle and my bracelets. This candle is a nice, light scent. I love anything almond related so this fits the bill. Plus? It’s so pretty.
Speaking of pretty, how about those bracelets? I really love these and usually wear my neutral colored ones each day. But, any chance I get I pull these out. I’d love to add a black one next.
Thanks for stopping by!
I so appreciate you stopping by today. If you missed my other posts this week I hope you’ll check them out. Next week I am planning to finish up my mini series on how to create outfits using wardrobe staples. I’m using 10 pieces to create 20 outfits!
