Welcome to this edition of Thursday Fashion Files! Today I am thrilled to bring you my first every JJill outfit. I’ve known about the brand for such a long time but had never tried anything on until a few weeks ago. I was actually quite surprised at how much I liked what I tried. Then, as luck would have it, I received an email from JJill asking if I’d like to collaborate with them – HECK YES!
Elevated Casual with JJill
When I think of JJill I think of timeless, classic, soft spoken style. Nothing loud, no garish prints. and most certainly nothing trendy. The epitome of elevated casual for the mature woman is how I’d sum up the brand. The fabrics are soft and comfortable, the sizing is generous, and the accessories are leather and of course top quality.
They allowed me to select an outfit of my choice, so without further adieu, I bring you my elevated casual summer outfit courtesy of JJill!
The Elements of the Outfit
For me it started with the jacket. I knew I wanted something very lightweight, possibly linen, since it is so brutally hot here. The Wearever Drawcord Jacket immediately caught my eye. I like the idea of being able to cinch the waist.I am wearing the jacket in an XS.
A great tank is always a key piece for me. Since JJill uses fine quality fabrics and designs for mature women, I knew there would be no clinging to every bump and bulge so I had to try the Pima Stretch Knit Tank. I got the tank in an XS for reference.
My obsession with linen pants continues and the Pure Jill Linen Cropped Pants did not disappoint! They come in many colors, but I was really drawn to the olive/sea salt shade. I am wearing the pants in a size small. I took these photos at the end of the day so you can see the little bit of wrinkling, which isn’t bad at all. These are soooooo comfortable!
The slides are by Seychelles and made of soft, Italian leather. They come in lots of colorways but I always prefer a neutral shade. They fit true to size and are very comfortable.
I selected this bag to top things off. It’s very small – holds my card holder, phone, and glasses but not much more. The strap is detachable so it can be worn as a crossbody or not – I love having options.
I found JJill to be very mature body friendly! The sizes range from XS-4X in just about everything and as I said the cuts and styles really speak to a woman’s body. More generous in the tummy and hips without being oversized, I think they hit the nail on the head when it comes to elevated casual.
Have you shopped JJill before? While it can be on the pricey side, it seems there is always a sale. Also? I think if you buy better you can have less that will do more – and I think with versatile, well made pieces you can create quite the wardrobe!
