Cropped Bomber: 5 Outfit Ideas

This Thursday’s Fashion Files is all about the trendy cropped bomber jacket. Sometimes we think of trends as a one and done piece but I’ve got 5 outfit ideas to help you update your fall style!

Bomber jackets are nothing new but last year they made their way back to the fashion forefront. To be honest I wasn’t a fan at first. I tend to prefer a little more structure. I found one I liked at Express and bought it. However, I only wore it a few times. Turns out the color didn’t work quite as well with my existing wardrobe.

Anrabess gifted me two in this cropped version. On my short waisted self, I like where the jackets hit near my waist. So don’t be turned off by the word ‘cropped’ – no belly baring here! I chose size small in khaki and beige. My initial impressions were very positive. I know Amazon fashion can be a slippery slope but if you find a brand you like stick with it. This cropped bomber compares so well with this much more expensive version from Aritizia!

Outfit #1 Cropped Bomber & Jeans

When in doubt, go with jeans! Honestly, is there anything that won’t work with your favorite pair? I like the way this cropped bomber dresses up the denim on denim – the sweet details like the pockets make all the difference. Outfit #2 Cropped Bomber & Leopard Jeans

A little tone on tone action with neutral-but-fun leopard! I like the khaki color of this cropped bomber, you could call it camel. Camel always exudes a certain element of chic so this combo is a winner in my book.

Outfit #3 Cropped Bomber & Slip Skirt with Sneakers

Whether you have a slip skirt or dress, top it with a cropped bomber and add some sneakers! I threw on my belt bag to tie it all together. My tip for wearing sneakers with a skirt or dress is to go all in. What does that mean? It means make it intentional. Add some sporty details like a belt bag. This keeps it from looking frumpy or like you just had foot surgery.

Outfit #4 Cropped Bomber & Slip Skirt with Heels

This time I went for monochromatic and dressier! In this case the cropped bomber jacket keeps the look from being too dressy. It adds a little edge and while I could wear a cardigan or even one of my beloved blazers, a trendy piece like the cropped bomber is more modern.

Outfit #5 Cropped Bomber & Wide Leg Cropped Denim

Two hot trends come together to make one great outfit! Wide leg cropped denim in chocolate brown and the khaki cropped bomber work so well together. I like the proportions on this one.
