Affordable Sweaters to Wear Now

Perhaps it was the tease of cooler weather last week or maybe the fact that I am headed to Maine this weekend, but I’m in a sweater wearing mood! When it comes to sweaters I don’t want anything too elaborate nor embellished. I’ve got a round up of affordable sweaters you can wear right now! I also noticed that I am wearing all kinds of hair in this post so it’s not your eyes – it’s my changing hair! Ha!!

Affordable Sweaters to Wear Now

Just when I think I’ve closed a chapter I am reminded to never say never. Such is the case with Walmart. Oh, how I yearn to be the woman who no longer buys her clothes where she buys her groceries! But there’s that part of me who cannot say no to something affordable that’s also good quality.

A friend recommended these lightweight sweaters and I bought 3. They are very much like a better quality long sleeve t-shirt than a heavy sweater. It’s just what I need in my climate. They’re also perfect for draping around your shoulders.

Then this one arrived by way of Anrabess. Gosh I love it too! It can be worn as a top on its own or layered over a cami or blouse. Comes in other colorways too – I think this is one that is a classic design and you cannot go wrong with it.

This striped number is so fun! I would call is sporty chic! Layer a puffer vest over it and you have a really fun look. It reminds of something I’d see on the Spanx website.

If I was going to buy one ‘fancy’ sweater this season it would be this one. The bow detail is extra special and it looks great with denim as well as a sparkly skirt. It’s versatile for sure and if you are the kind of gal who likes a casual but elevated style then this is the sweater for you.

Arach & Cloz has such a great line of knit sweaters. They are a wool blend and look and feel so soft – like cashmere but without the cashmere price! I have both long and short sleeve versions and what can I say except I like them all equally.

Finally, let’s chat cashmere. Here’s what I have learned: cashmere is meant to pill. Yup, it is. It’s also meant to be shaved. So, if it pills, you shave it. Done. I used to think if it pilled it wasn’t good quality. That kept me from enjoying cashmere. Hands down the best place to buy cashmere is Quince. I wear my sweaters often – most of the time draped over my shoulders but as soon as it cools off I wear them layered. They are thin and not bulky at all but they provide warmth. I have two – one in burgundy and one in cream.

How will you style this sweaters? However you want! They work with just about everything! So, tell me, what kinds of sweaters are you drawn to? Fair isle? Argyle? Ribbed? Chunky? So many sweaters, so little time!
