Save or Splurge for Spring

I thought it would be fun to do a save or splurge for Spring post. I’ve been seeing lots of fun pieces from different retailers, at different price points so regardless of your budget you can shop! It’s fun to refresh your wardrobe with a new piece or two at the beginning of the season.

Spring Top

Nothing says Spring to me more than pink checks or gingham. The splurge option isn’t terribly priced and if you want gingham, there’s nothing better. But if you’d like something in a more muted pink and with an off white background, then the save version is perfect. It is also a longer, tunic length and slightly longer in the back. The quality is impressive too! I am wearing it in a small for reference.

Spring Sweaters

I first shared these sweaters with you on Friday but they’re worth mentioning again. Both of the save options are made well, they look much more expensive in person. I am crazy about the blue and white striped sweater. It is lightweight and perfect for Spring and even Fall. I had been eyeing the splurge version for some time, but I was honestly afraid it would be too heavy for my climate.

The lilac/lavender striped henley sweater is such a pretty shade and I can see it working with lots of Spring separates. If you like a good pattern mix, a floral skirt would be adorable (make sure the floral print is a small pattern). But shorts would be a great option too. The splurge option has the same pretty color and stripes but with a mock neck. It would be a great option in a cooler climate.

Spring Jacket

A trench coat is a classic wardrobe piece. If you don’t already own one, grab one now! I bought my JCrew version from Poshmark and I’m so impressed. Definitely something I’ll be keeping for a very long time. The save version has gotten good reviews too and the price is excellent!

Braided Sandals

These braided sandals caught my attention last year and they are all over the place again this year. Not wanting to drop over $100 on a pair, I gave these a try. I am so happy I did. They have exceeded my expectations, look terrific and they are comfortable. Take a look at the splurge version too; they are available in lots of colorways. I’ll be honest, I have not heard a negative comment about these!

Jumpsuit

A jumpsuit is a great alternative to a dress or separates when you’re wondering what to wear. Adding accessories can really personalize the look. The save version is a thick cotton and has elastic at the wrists – perfect for pushing up and staying there. It also comes in chambray. I am wearing it in a small.

Bonus! I’m wearing the braided sandals too!

The splurge version is very chic! You can add your own belt and it is sleeveless; that might be better for Summer too.

Wide Leg Denim

Wide leg denim seems to be available at all price points this season. I own the splurge version and while I did buy them on sale, the save version looks identical and the price is incredible. The wide leg is especially nice as we move into warmer weather. I tend to shy away from wearing tighter denim when it heats up here in FL but the wider leg is an option I can definitely do.

Your Turn

Have you found yourself going through your closet and taking inventory? Is there anything you need to replace? Maybe you’ve had your eye on something you’d like to try this season. This is a great time to grab it and get the most wear. I’ve made the mistake in the past of waiting until the end of the season. Not only did I miss out on wearing it as often as I could have but the sizes and selections and were sparse. I’m determined to make better choices moving forward, how about you?
