Hey friends! Happy Friday and for my US friends, happy Father’s Day weekend. Oh, how I miss my sweet dad each day and even more on holidays. It’s been 4 years and I am realizing how blessed I was to have my dad in my life for 51 years. Always trying to find the positive because this is how I cope. I share this with you in case you, or someone you know, is grieving – it is a journey.
On a much lighter note – let’s talk about a few short dresses I am loving lately. These gems have become favorites of mine for sure and worth sharing multiple times! One you have seen before and the other two you have seen if you follow me on Instagram.
Favorite Short Dresses
You’ve heard me say it before, I believe dresses keep me cooler in the hot summer months here in FL. I do love a midi or maxi dress but on the daily, short dresses are in heavy rotation. Unless I don’t feel like shaving my legs. Or I haven’t used self tanner. But, you get the picture!
Favorite Anytime, Anyplace Dress
The Forever dress is such a good one. While it looks very basic, it’s the quality construction and fabric that has me smitten. This dress can be worn with any kind of shoes and certainly layered under just about any jacket or other topper. It’s available in lots of colors and even a few patterns. You also have the ability to make it a bit longer if needed.
Favorite Flirty Floral Dress
This sweet floral number came to me by way of Brindle Boutique. I did not expect to like it as much as I do! I wore it to church on Sunday and the minute I put it on I started thinking of all the pieces I have to top it off! Church gets cold and so does the grocery store which is where we were headed. I think this dress would be adorable with cowboy boots or even a taller boot when the weather cools off.
Favorite Short Shirt Dress
My goodness I hope this dress is still in stock when this post goes live. It is so stinking cute and the 100% cotton – made in India btw- feels sturdy – almost like poplin. I am wearing it in a small, it comes in black, white, and blue stripe. But really? Pink pinstripes??? Oh Walmart, you had me the moment this beauty popped up on my screen. I literally could not click ‘add to cart’ any faster!

Gosh I love the vertical stripes, the different shades of pink, the tiered skirt. This dress is preppy and fun and I cannot get enough of it! I want green shoes to pair with it and my green handbag because pink and green bring a major smile to this girl’s face!
Final Thoughts on Short Dresses
When I worked in a physical elementary school (my current school is virtual) I rarely wore short dresses. They weren’t practical for the job I did for lots of reasons. So in many ways, they feel like a new love for me! One that I am excited to embrace. I hope you found something you like or feel inspired to pull out a short dress yourself on a hot day when you want to feel cool and put together!
