Well, we’re officially back and our trip to Maine has come and past. My heart is full with happiness and gratitude. Happiness because we just spent several days with a few of my favorite people and gratitude for all the people who showed up to work and made our flights happen. Things could not have gone more smoothly and that was not at all what I expected. Needless to say, I am humbled by the goodness in the world – all those who showed up to work and make things happen despite not being paid. I’ll be very honest, I wanted to buy a bunch of grocery store gift cards and hand them out to the TSA agents but apparently this is not permitted. Hmmmm…
Friday Favorites – Maine Edition
We left very early last Saturday to catch our flight. This was the first time we flew the airline Breeze. I was so impressed! I was expecting a bare bones budget airline, like Spirit. No shade thrown on Spirit btw, I flew it all the time to Nashville. But the seats are not super comfy and there’s no wifi. WELL, the seats were very comfy, we had purchased a package that included wifi and the plane was so nice and new! Breeze was the only airline that offered a direct flight to Portland so we will most definitely be flying them again.

I would have to say that this is not the ideal time of the year to visit Maine but when people you love live there, you go regardless. That’s what we did. So it’s not like we were doing some major sightseeing. That will happen at another time, this trip was all about seeing our people.
It was cold and you know I love that! Since we purchased a package that allowed us a carry on and checked bag each I took advantage of that and overpacked. Lots of light layers and my fleece lined leggings were the hero pieces – oh, and my puffer coat!
We did do a little sightseeing in downtown Portland on Saturday after we arrived and we ate our first Lobster roll of the trip along with baked oysters. So good!!! Lots of walking and browsing which was so nice in cooler weather.

Travel Must Haves
I do not consider myself to be an avid traveler nor expert when it comes to packing, etc. However, I have noticed that there are a few things I consider must haves. For starters, I am team packing cubes. I have been using the same ones for years and they help keep me organized. I’d be lost without my magnifying mirror, I use it at home every single day and travel with it as well. The fleece lined leggings I bought last December in preparation for our trip to Philly came in handy on this trip! I wore them alone and also layered under joggers. This coatigan was also a lifesaver, it packs well and layers perfectly!
The one thing that may come as a surprise to you is THIS tripod. It folds up and fits easily into may handbag but it comes in handy for group pics. I use it everyday for reels and blog pics but I also bring it with me when we are seeing family or going some place we might like a group photo. It’s not just for influencers!
On this particular trip, I was glad I had my two piece set from Walmart. I wore it on both travel days ( we did laundry at our son’s house). I also wore my Easy Spirit booties on this trip and they were wonderful. I’ve been wearing them at home as more of a slipper but it’s nice to be able to wear them out as well.

Our trip was a success and it was nice to unwind for a few days and see our boy! I hated leaving but he was headed out of town to Detroit for a business trip early the next morning. When I returned home I had a stack of packages waiting for me!

It’s tough to get back on track after being away but here I am. My apologies for slow responses and blog visits. Today I am away at a conference and this weekend I have a ton of work to do for this side hustle of mine. I so very much appreciate each and every one of you!
