Friday Favorites #3

Well I don’t know about you but I think every week needs to be a 4 day week with Mondays off! Especially when football is on on Sunday night! I may have to drop Oprah a line and suggest that, ya know, just in case.

Anyhow, this week is a mixed bag of favorites for me. From those that tug at your heartstrings to one that is just plain wet-your-pants funny!

#1 Last week Lana from My New Happy shared a few books she’s been reading lately. She mentioned one of my very favorite authors, Amy Krouse Rosenthal. You may or may not be familiar with her work, I was because as a school counselor I used some of her books. But you may have heard of her because as she was dying from cancer she wrote a piece for the NY Times called You May Want to Marry My Husband. It was published last March and she is now deceased, but her work lives on. I purchased her book Dear Girl, to give as a gift to my niece. I swear if every girl had this book and read it every night I think it would do wonders for her self esteem. I’m sharing this because I think it would make a lovely gift for any girl! I hope you’ll check it out!

#2 My jumpsuit from Target seemed to be a favorite for many of you! I told you all the brilliant colors in it would make it easy to pair up with other layers. Here are a few pictures of other ways I’ve styled it. It’s so versatile it has me thinking it would be great to wear to work with a cropped, fitted jacket and then out for cocktails or dinner without the jacket!

Or until it warms up pair it with a denim jacket:

I love it with a colorful cardigan too!

#3 Time with our 20 year old! Today is his actual birthday but our younger son is having his wisdom teeth cut out today so we traveled to Gainesville on Sunday. We brought my parents with us to help celebrate. We traipsed around UF, checked out the apartment he and his roommates will live in next school year, shopped, and then went out to dinner. I love this boy of mine so much!

#4 Speaking of my boy…he has quite a sense of humor! So as I mentioned one of his roommates couldn’t join us on Sunday because he was working. No worries, Nolan “photoshopped” him into the picture (he’s the one in the blue shorts)! He couldn’t stop there though, he had to put his body on all of our heads! Listen, I would love to develop some better muscles in my arms but this is a bit ridiculous! Ha!

#5 This crazy weather is actually a favorite of mine. You won’t hear me complain when a cold front hits seemingly out of nowhere! This is how it was last weekend, Friday night we went out and it was so hot I wore SHORTS! Sunday it was freezing (by our standards anyway) at 50 degrees so we were bundled up in coats!

Is your weather that crazy too? I’m sure we’re not the only ones.
Here’s hoping you’re ready for a wonderful weekend filled with lots of ways to replenish your soul! We’ll be taking it easy since Collin will be recovering from oral surgery. I am looking forward to getting some things done around here!
I’d like to say thank you for stopping by today, it means so much to me!
