There’s no hiding it; camo is on trend and everywhere (pun totally intended btw). I was thrilled to see it as the theme for this Wednesday’s Fall Fashion Frenzy Link Up with The Blended Blog. Perfect timing too since just a few weeks ago I was totally inspired by my friend Jodie and her camo outfit, see it here. My friend Mary of The Pouting Pensioner calls it “thieving” and that may make me the unapologetically thiefiest thiever of all! Let’s face it, this is why I read so many blogs – I am inspired by real women wearing real fashion.
Camo has been a favorite print of mine for awhile, over the years I’ve owned several pieces. Currently I own camo pants (similar, plus size option), a camo scarf, and on Saturday I purchased a camo tee. I totally “thieved” the camo tee from another blogger who bought it and said how soft it was! She was totally right and I got a sweetheart of a deal on it in store at American Eagle! Sadly I can’t find it online. Maybe that’s why I am not really smiling in these photos????
Without further adieu I give you my inspired by Jodie of J’s Touch of Style camo look! The day Jodie posted her outfit I was so excited because I knew I already owned all the pieces to make this happen. Shopping my closet is so nice, don’t you just love it when you can do that? I think what drew me to this look initially was the print mixing. I’m always a fan and hey, I have 3 prints going on here and I am loving them all! Here’s why this print mixing works in my opinion, the prints are all rather subtle. The camo is somewhat muted and the leopard is in my accessories – the fringe on my necklace and my bag. The stripes on the top are thin so I feel like it all balances well if that makes sense. Camo is a neutral so it can be worn with any color but I had never worn it with stripes and leopard until I was inspired to do so!
