My Amazon shopping has changed dramatically over the years. While I was once wowed by the convenience of getting budget friendly clothing items delivered to my door without the hassle of leaving my home, reality started to set in. I was quickly accumulating a stash of clothes that really weren’t all that fabulous. The excitement soon died down. I’ve learned to become a better shopper and not just buy x, y, and z because I saw it on a blog somewhere. Discernment is a good thing and my skills sure did sharpen. The Drop is actually a better quality brand from Amazon and the tiered maxi dress is high quality. I have shared it before, but it’s good enough to share again!
The Drop: Tiered Maxi Dress
When I first heard about “The Drop” I had no idea what it meant. I honestly thought it referred to a pop up shop type of experience on Amazon. I kept seeing this dress but never felt quite ready to complete my purchase. It also went in and out of stock multiple times. I finally decided to go for it and I am so glad I did.
Black Tiered Dress – The Details
I think it is more of a midi then a maxi but you know what they say about a rose by any other name. The tiered silhouette is a good one for warm weather – very cool! The best part is the fabric – this is not your standard cotton. Oh no! The tiered dress is made of 100% tencell lyocell. It comes in a wide range of sizes XXS-5X – how’s that for size inclusiveness? If black isn’t your thing, the dress comes in 14 other colorways. The straps on the dress are fully adjustable but they don’t tie – they actually button. I am wearing the dress in a medium btw.
The fabric of this dress is really impressive. This is a far cry from a Target or Shein sundress. I had to learn more about the fabric for future reference because I am learning to read tags!
Here’s what I found about the fabric: TENCEL™ branded lyocell and modal fibers are produced by environmentally responsible processes from the sustainably sourced natural raw material wood. TENCEL™ fibers are found in the collections of many leading designers and renowned retailers.
It’s naturally breathable and cool to the touch and it drapes well. Bonus: it doesn’t wrinkle easily! I think since this fabric is higher quality it makes it easier to dress up too.
What do you think? Are you a fan of a black dress for warm weather? Have you tried The Drop brand yet from Amazon? I am pretty impressed and this dress is currently on sale, making it an even better deal.
Just in case, I have rounded up a few more affordable options. If you are looking to add a dress or two to your wardrobe, I say go for it!
