Peace Out, August! Friday Favorites

Hey friends, happy Friday! I’m having all the good feels today as it is not only Friday but it’s the Friday that kicks off a long weekend AND it’s the end of August. Sorry, August but I am not a fan. Let’s get to this week’s favorites!

Last Friday kicked off the start of the ladies group I go to weekly at my church. We follow the school calendar because it’s mostly a mom’s group. However, the group is open to all moms of all ages! I think this is so clever, as moms of adult children we often don’t have a space and many empty nesters or retirees are looking for connection. I am so blessed by this group! There are over 200 women who attend!

Saturday morning I enjoyed my walk in the sun. Each time I do this I am always reminded of the beauty in my surroundings. No filter needed. It will never get old and brings me so much joy!

Last Saturday night we went to Winefest at a nearby German American Club. It was fun! The club crowned a new wine queen, we ate authentic German food, there was dancing and live music. It was so much fun!

After church on Sunday I did absolutely nothing! Well, not exactly. I wrote my blog post for Monday and caught up on reels work but I did all of that while sitting on the couch and watching Netflix and Prime.

We have made a few changes on the old home front and they are for sure favorites! We bought a sectional for our family room to replace two reclining sofas. Truth be told, we should never have purchased them when we did 5 years ago, they were way too big. Anyway, this sectional has 3 recliners and I LOVE it!

I also purchased this art for a blank wall. It was like $60 at Homegoods, is it still considered art? I like it. Yes, I have kinda crazy taste. Part of the house has color – hot pinks, blues, etc. and then the other side is more neutral. I will blame this on my birth sign: Gemini.

If you read yesterday’s post, you saw my new boots! Listen, these were a splurge for me but I have no regrets. I have decided that investing in classic accessories is where I will spend my money. These are very comfortable and I think this color will work for me for years! I am buying better but less, buy once cry once!

Labor Day Sales

You don’t need me to tell you that there are some great sales this weekend. I am hoping Loft has 50% off. If they do, I many just swing by the store. Honestly, there isn’t anything I need at the moment (need is relative, I know). I have a trip coming up in September and while I think I am bringing thins I already own, I may be interested in this and this.

I am also hoping to add some things to my Poshmark closet. You can take a look at my closet here. A lot of what I’m selling you’ve seen here on the blog. Does that mean I only wore it for the blog? No. Does it mean I told you I liked it and I really didn’t? No. It means I am constantly moving things in and out of my closet.

As I wrap things up today, I want to let you know that I am taking Monday off from posting. I am hoping to walk, watch football, spend time with my husband, go to church, go to a party we’re invited too and relax! My wish for each and every one of you is a weekend filled with peace and happiness. If it is not readily available, please find it, you will benefit immensely.
