Holiday Outfit Ideas

For this week’s edition of Fashion Files I’m sharing two more holiday outfit ideas. One is far dressier than the other giving you options for any event. If you’re a fan of dressing for the holidays without wearing red or green then you’ll love these holiday outfit ideas!

Holiday Outfit Ideas

Let’s start with what I wore to church on Sunday. It was cool outside and our church was having the annual Christmas Cantata – very festive!

Outfit Idea #1

I chose this two piece air essentials from Spanx and added my coatigan. It came together so beautifully and I cannot tell you how many people complimented me. The fabric on the two piece set has a bit of sparkle making it holiday appropriate!

Let me tell you, I am a fan of air essentials! I get it – the fabric is soft and silky and feels incredible on. The price reflects that by the way! I do own several two piece sets from Amazon that are inspired by Spanx. They are great options and much more budget friendly!

I bought the slim flare pants and the half zip on Black Friday. They do have a wide leg version of the pants too! Of course you don’t have to get a sparkly, shimmery color like I did. I really do like this and will wear it beyond the holidays because it’s subtle enough. I layered a Half Tee underneath!

The takeaway for you is this: do you have a two pieces set? Maybe it’s not screaming holiday but you CAN add accessories and dress it up! I call this elevated casual. Think outside the box, use what you have and create an outfit you’ll love wearing!

Outfit Idea #2

This outfit is dressier for sure but I have two styling options depending on your weather and your preference! I sequin maxi skirt can be so handy at the holidays! Honestly this neutral color makes it one you could wear all year long to any formal event.

I styled it with a washable silk blouse and then with a sweater. I think the sweater makes it feel a little less formal! I kept the shoes the same with both. Even though the sequins may feel formal, I can assure you this is so comfortable! The skirt has a side zip and a side slit so it’s easy to walk in. Great news too – it is currently on sale for $39. I am wearing it in a small.

I love dressing for the holidays but I never want to look too costumey or overdone. No matter what day of the year it is I like to show up as the best version of myself, how about you?
