Last Saturday our besties invited us to spend the day exploring two nearby cities in Central Florida, Plant City and Lakeland. We had a blast and can always count on these friends for fun, out of the way adventures. We joked with our friend Steve that he needs a social media account to share all of his off the beaten path adventures!
I mean, really, how many times can you say you’ve been walking downtown and you came upon the sweetest little pony? Only in Plant City, FL!

I shared a lot of our outing on Instagram Stories (you can follow me by clicking right here). My favorite purchase is this hot pink deer head purchased at a vintage market. It will be hanging in my dining room. You’ll have to see it to appreciate what I’m doing in there. I am absolutely in love with this! I also included a picture of the light pink cow’s head I almost came home with – it was $95 so I left it behind. There are also photos from the Vintage Warehouse in Lakeland. We had so much fun – I wanted EVERYTHING!
Getting away and having a fun day was definitely a favorite! I’ll be honest, I get anxious when we plan to be gone all day. Leaving our 12 year old, highly anxious Shih Tzu, Sophie is not easy. Thank goodness our next door neighbor adores her and comes over and sits with her while we’re gone.
Sunday was another day we planned to be gone. Our younger son was moving out of his college apartment to come home for summer. My mom offered to have Sophie over to her house for the day (seriously this dog is high maintenance). We moved him out, went to lunch, and then swung by the new apartment he and our nephew will move into in August.

Heading home after a great day, we got a call that my mom tripped and fell in her yard, Her front yard has no grass and ivy instead. Her foot got caught on a vine and down she went, shattering and dislocating her wrist in the process. Thank goodness she keeps her cell phone strapped to her at all times (she will NOT wear a Life Alert) and called her neighbor. He came up and saw the severity of the situation and called 911. She was taken to the emergency room. That pretty much tainted the rest of that night for us.
Because my job is so flexible, I brought my mom to her appointments this week. So much to do when you need surgery! Thank goodness we were able to get it scheduled for Thursday morning (it would have been my mom and dad’s 59th anniversary).

I’ve been on a home decor buying frenzy lately and spoiled myself with another Lo Home vase. I had the small, I’ve now purchased the medium and up next will be the large. Pink leopard print on a ginger jar? Yes, please.

I also purchased some new shoes at TJMaxx that I am loving. I’ve been thinking of adding a pair of these trendy sandals to my closet but I wasn’t sure they’d work for me. I ordered this pair when they went on sale at Macy’s. I actually like the Madden Girl ones from TJMaxx better as far as comfort goes!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and if you’re celebrating have a very happy Mother’s Day!
