Happy Friday from Indiana, friends! I am waking up in a very cold climate today but I took some time out this week to put together a few of my favorite things around the house for today’s post.
Favorite Thing: Painting Furniture
If you follow me on Instagram then you saw my new project last week. I painted the bottom half of an old hutch bright pink to go in my dining room. One of my favorite things to do is give new life to old pieces through paint.
I use Dixie Belle paint for all of my projects because it is mistake proof and requires no sanding or special prep. I basically clean the piece – I use denatured alcohol for that – and then paint! Dixie Belle paint is mineral paint – it cleans up easily, does not smell (no noxious odors), and dries quickly. If hot pink is not your taste, no worries! They literally have every color – even more mainstream colors.
Favorite Thing: Yummy Recipe
This yummy recipe from Living with Landyn is definitely a favorite thing from this week. It is not only so easy – literally 4 ingredients – but it tastes AMAZING. Although it is suggested you serve it with animal crackers, I say eat it with a spoon and save the calories. It is highly addictive! The sprinkles I used were blue and turned my dip light blue.
Favorite Thing: Shoes
Last Friday I mentioned my new shoes, well on Saturday they passed the mall test. Cute, comfortable and trendy shoes are always a favorite thing. I literally wore them for an all day shopping trip and I am happy to say – they were comfortable. I brought a pair of back up shoes with me just in case but I did not have to change my shoes.
Clear shoes are trendy this spring so that means you’ll be seeing lots of them! I love the look and the heel height is perfect. Because they’re clear, they literally go with everything!
That’s it for today. I hope you are ready for a great weekend ahead. My husband and I will be watching our son’s volleyball tournament all day Saturday and Sunday. I have some special plans on Monday and I cannot wait – follow along on Instagram to see what I’m up to!
