Clear your Schedule

Before you get into the specifics of the recipes you are going to use, the flavor combinations you want to try or anything else of the sort, it is wise for you to try and make sure that the two of you are at least going to be alone. If you have kids, then now is the time for you to try and arrange a babysitter and for you to set some ground rules. It may be that you try and agree to an evening without tech or that you turn off the TV as soon as your other half gets in from work. If you can do this, then you will soon find that it is a great way for you to make the evening extra special for you both. If possible, ensure that your partner clears their schedule too, to avoid any disasters.

The Menu

When you have the date set for your romantic evening, it is then time for you to plan out the menu. Try and be mindful of whether or not you are going to have to use fresh ingredients, as this will affect whether or not you can source them properly. If your partner has dietary restrictions or just preferences, try and make sure that you take this into account too. If you can do this, then things will become easier for you. Don’t forget drinks or even desserts. If you know that your partner loves a certain brand of red wine or if they have a favorite chocolate, incorporate it into the meal in some way, to make them feel extra special. If you’re not a whizz in the kitchen, you cannot go wrong with homemade chocolate dipped strawberries. It’s simple, romantic and most of all, very tasty.

Prepare

If the kitchen is just not your natural habitat, then it is still possible for you to try and experiment with new flavors, so you don’t have to worry about risking the quality of the finished meal. Choose a recipe with ingredients and techniques that you are somewhat familiar with and also make sure that you practice your food skills a bit beforehand. If searing meat is something that you are confident in, why not try and create your own steak seasonings? If you know that you are an excellent cook when it comes to seafood, then try and experiment by investing in different types of fish so that you can blow your loved one away when they sit down for the meal. Things like this are ideal if you want to make things extra special.
