Happy last Monday of school for me! We have 7 school days left and counting and I for one am ready! The temperatures are creeping up and so is the humidity which means I am looking for every opportunity to keep cool. Today I am sharing an outfit I wore over the weekend for a night out with friends. We went to dinner at a Japanese restaurant and then back to their house to play cards and visit. This outfit proved to be the right choice, like Goldilocks’ porridge I wasn’t too hot and not too cold even in the restaurant!
Now before we dive into the details about the outfit let me explain a few things. First of all we don’t usually take inside photos for the blog but we were leaving earlier in the day and I thought the lighting outside would be an issue. So we snapped a few inside but they weren’t great. So we went outside and as per usual the wind picked up and my hair looked crazy! We took a few and then headed out. When I sat down to look at the pictures on Sunday morning I can see deodorant marks on the romper. Now you realize the limitations to my photo editing skills because I have no idea how to fix that! Haha! All I can do really is laugh because it’s always something, right? So anyway, I bought this romper last year at Old Navy. At first I was skeptical about how much I’d actually like a romper but it turns out I like this one just fine! Similar to a dress except there’s no worry when the wind blows that you’ll be exposed and easy to style. Initially I was concerned about the hassle I’d face in the restroom but it’s fairly simple and doesn’t really bother me at all. And if there’s one thing about me it’s that I spend a decent amount of time in the restroom because I drink a little over a gallon of water a day!
Because I can’t stop wearing my new turquoise necklace (similar), I wore it too.I love turquoise with black. My favorite pompom clutch from Accessory Concierge also adds color and fun. There are so many cute clutches out now, I have my eye on a few! Take a look at this one, this one, and this one. My birthday is in a little less than two weeks and I’m thinking of getting this one.
I wore my new block heel Vionics. The footbed on these babies is super comfortable. You’ll notice they have a velcro closure.I wasn’t so sure how I’d feel about velcro but I actually like it because it allows me to adjust the straps for the best fit.Even more than a buckle. Yes, they are expensive but it’s worth it to be comfortable all day.If you need a cute shoe and you have any kind of foot pain or discomfort check them out. Especially if you are on your feet all day! Listen, I know these are not the typical heels I would reach for but they are a fantastic compromise.
Since my exact romper is not available any longer I did a little searching and found some fabulous options for you!
This romper is similar to mine and this one is even better because you can wear a regular bra with it! This one is so pretty in this vibrant color and I love the lace yoke top. There’d be no need for a necklace just great earrings and bracelets! Here’s anothergreat one to try. Looking for an off the shoulder romper? Try this one! The embroidery detail on the top is so pretty and on trend! I think this one would be great as a swimsuit cover up too. I want to snatch up this jersey romper,if only it came in a different color! How adorable is this plus size option? The color and the ruffle detail have me giddy!
We are taking a cruise in June and I’ll definitely be packing my romper. I can dress it up with heels or keep it extremely casual with my flip flops. An easy, breezy romper and fun accessories are in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today, what’s in yours?Do you own a romper? Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous Monday!
Fashionably,
Kellyann
