With Memorial Day just days away, it’s time to get some red, white, and blue outfit ideas ready! After all, July 4th is literally around the corner, you might remember my post last year with outfit ideas. Get the inspo now and be ready when the time comes, right?
No doubt you’ve seen your share of patriotic graphic tees and denim shorts so I thought I’d give you a few alternatives. Nothing wrong with that combo – depending on how you plan to spend the holiday, that might just be what you’re after. I kind of like the idea of dressing patriotically for several days leading up to the holiday. Our church always does a nice job of honoring our service men and women so why not don my red, white, and blue in appreciation of their sacrifice?
Dressy Outfit Option
I’ve had this red skirt for years! It’s an oldie but a goodie from Target. I love the sassy ruffle down the front although it makes it a bit of challenge to style. Recently I purchased this linen blend top and I think the two paired together make a great combo. I added a blue bracelet to keep with the theme. Overall, I am pleased with it – not too costumey and very comfortably my style. P.S. Ignore the wrinkles on the blouse – it literally just arrived and I took it out of the package and wore it!

Casual Outfit Option
This top is new to me as well – I ordered it after seeing Wanda wear it. Typically I would shy away from this style, thinking it would not work on me. However, after seeing her in it, I had a good feeling. So glad I took the chance because I love it AND it is on sale right now – under $20! The peplum hem is great for hiding the tummy and the tight fitting top makes my chest look smaller. I am a huge fan of the puff sleeves too!

I paired it with my white denim and really love the look. But it could just as easily work with shorts – either denim or cotton stretch. If a denim skirt is more your style I think that would be darling!
