Hi friends and thanks for stopping by!
For as long as I can remember I have had dark circles under my eyes. Seriously I think they were apparent back in elementary school long before I even entertained the notion of wearing make up. I believe they are hereditary so no amount of sleep will help although the absence of sleep certainly makes the problem worse. And I have tried loads of products promising all kinds of help to no avail. The only real help comes in the form of a great concealer. When I was younger I could pile on the full coverage make up and maybe a little concealer and I’d be set but that is no longer the case. Now I have to be careful because heavy make up can make itself at home in the fine lines under my eyes and that is no good at all. In the last few years I’ve used a lot of products from It Cosmetics and I have been so happy with them. I used their very popular Bye Bye Under Eye. This is a very thick concealer and should be used sparingly. My problem was it was too thick and I never mastered the art of using it sparingly. I just didn’t love it like so many others do so I started looking for something else.
On a recent trip to Ulta I asked for some help and I got it! The very helpful sales associate quickly grabbed Fake Up by Benefit Cosmetics. It is a hydrating crease control concealer. Exactly what I was looking for but didn’t know it! She dusted on this powder also by Benefit Cosmetics. Perfection! After scooping up both of these products I asked her which brush she used to apply the concealer and she pointed out this brush. I scooped it up too! I am loving how easy to use and fool proof these products are. After dabbing the concealer under my eyes, I lightly brush over it to blend and then dab it into my skin with my finger tips. I finish up by lightly dusting on the powder and just like that my dark under eye circles are gone! Totally faking it, those dark circles are hidden!
I think one of the first steps to going from frumpy to fabulous is good make up! For those of us over 40 a great concealer is so important. We deserve to look as good as we feel! So go ahead, try a new concealer if you aren’t 100% happy with the one you currently use! Or if you have one you love please share in the comment section below – I’d love to know about it!
