Oh friends, what a week. I am heartbroken about the situation in Las Vegas and I feel so deeply for all of the families and friends who lost loved ones. I pray for the entire city as I know all too well what’s it’s like when terror comes to town. It saddens me that we live in a world where people going out to enjoy a night of fun never return home and that our children are almost immune to this type of violence. We live in such a broken world that every chance we have to lighten the mood and feel alive we have to take. Regardless of your faith or beliefs I hope you’ll join me in sending love and prayers to everyone in Las Vegas. I hope too that some good will come from all of this; maybe a new appreciation for first responders will ignite and we can stop all the foolish bickering. Can we come together in our grief?I certainly hope so.
Today is day 3 of the Common Threads Challenge . You can get more information about it here from the fabulous Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood. From what I understand this challenge is her brain child. I’m just tagging along and enjoying the ride!
I kicked off Monday with this look:
Everyone at work loved my gingham top. I’m glad they did since they’ll be seeing a lot of it this month! I wore an old pair of burgundy jeans from Loft along with a new necklace and my favorite open toe booties (similar and on sale). I have to say I really loved how this outfit turned out and it reinforced my love for the top!
Tuesday I wore this new top. I paired it with black, cropped pants purchased last Fall from Loft. I wore my comfortable wedges. I love that the top combines a couple of trends all into one adorable piece. The stripes, the short bell sleeves, and the embroidery detail are all trending for Fall.
Today I am wearing my cargo vest (similar) along with my step hem jeans (similar on sale) and my booties (on sale). I have a district meeting downtown and it’s often cold in the meeting room so I am wearing a plaid shirt with my vest.
I am anxious to see how this all plays out as far as the challenge goes. I may have made a few mistakes with the 2 tops I chose because they are both statement tops. You know, the kind of tops that have details people remember. Wearing them each week may prove to be a little much. The last thing anyone wants is for co-workers to say,”Oh, hey, I love that you’re wearing that top again this week!”
Did you take advantage of the 50% off sale and free shipping on all orders at Loft?I hope so, what a great sale! I hope you’ll be inspired by today’s post and maybe you’ll join along with the Common Threads Challenge. Remember I’ll be posting a selfie every morning before work on Instagram and I’d love to have you follow me there.
I wish you all a very peaceful Wednesday. If your hearts are heavy with burden or sadness I hope you find a way to lighten your load and feel loved. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for stopping by my blog today,it means so much to me!
xo,
Kellyann
