There are lots of old fashion rules that still exist for some, like no white after Labor Day, red heads can’t wear red, and blondes can’t wear yellow. The problem with these rules is they limit our creativity and stifle our fashion sense. Since yellow is one of the pantone colors of the year, I thought I’d give it a spin and answer the question, can blondes wear yellow?
Strolling through Target, I stumbled upon this dress. Initially I was drawn to a beautiful purple print but then I saw the yellow. Since I liked the cut and this particular shade of yellow, I figured it just might work.
This dress is lightweight, breezy, and has such pretty sleeves! I’m a huge fan of the ruffle hem too. Ya know what else I love? It comes in 6 colorways and is available in plus sizes too! Yay!!!
Adding a hat and some pretty accessories has me ready for a day at the Farmer’s Market or brunch. Depending on where you live, even booties and a jacket could work until it warms up. Such a versatile dress and it runs true to size.
Since colors come in so many different shades and tones, it’s hard to rule out or in a particular color . There are just so many variations! When you’re deciding on a color, take that into account.
If you just can’t bear the thought of wearing a particular color, try wearing an accessory. Either a handbag, earrings, scarf, or necklace. While I’m not a huge fan of grey in spring and summer, my necklace has a slight hint of it on the beads. Paired with the yellow dress, I’m comfortable with it!
