How to Wear Sequins Any Old Day!

Sequins are often set aside for some special occasion. But why? Is it because they sparkle? Is it because they shine? Who says we can’t pull them out any old day? Let’s not wait around for special occasions, let’s make each day something to celebrate. If you feel like sparkling and shining then do it!

My first memory of wearing sequins was my senior year in high school, a winter semi formal. I wore a blue sequin dress. Gosh I loved that dress and how special I felt. Now, a cocktail dress may be too much for everyday but a sequin top or leggings? Go for it!

Here’s why you need these pieces. They’ll last for years, never go out of style, and you can dress up while feeling super comfortable. Let’s talk about the leggings first. I bought mine two years ago from Express. They sold out right away and for good reason. They look great with everything! They can easily be worn to any holiday get together or just for a day out, why not?

Not a fan of full on sequins? Try the leggings with the stripe up the side. It’s a safe way to ease into the sequin pool.

My sequin top is a favorite as well. Again, this is a few years old but I love the soft pink color and it looks good as new. Grab this one from H&M (available in 3 colorways). Wear it with denim, dress pants, a skirt, heck even a pair of dressy shorts (if you live in warm climate like mine if totally works).

Last year I added a sequin skirt (similar) to my wardrobe and I love it! Dresses down easily with a graphic tee or dresses up with a blouse. So versatile and fun!

Life is short. Eat dessert. Buy the shoes. Use the good china. Wear the sequins. Do what brings you joy – if you aren’t hurting anyone then go for it!
