All My Faves

Happy last Friday before all the craziness begins! Although while my husband and I were out last weekend I felt like it had already begun. Honestly the stores were packed and parking spaces were few and far between. Thank you retailers for totally spoiling Black Friday, we now have Black November. That’s a total buzzkill for me! Anyway, I have a nice little round up of faves to share today so enjoy!

Favorite #1: As cliche as it may sound, I am grateful for the many blessings in my life. Although this little space of mine on the internet may not garnish tons of attention and brands aren’t reaching out to me I have been rewarded in far greater ways. Honestly I have made some great friendships with other bloggers to the point that when things are happening in my life I find myself reaching out to them. Crazy, huh? Maybe not, I’m not the only one feeling that way.
I received the sweetest little package from my sweet friend Andrea over at Living on Cloud Nine. You may be tired of hearing about it but she really is the sweetest person and a good friend. She helped me out a lot when I needed it most and I am delighted to have her as well my other gal pals in my life!

Favorite #2: This super easy, delicious recipe for Saucy Cranberry Meatballs. So easy and so delicious. Three ingredients and they cook in the crock pot! My son Collin took one bite and said, “Yes! Make these again!”

Favorite #3: Cooler weather in Florida means wearing most of our typical wardrobe just a little differently. I wore this wrap dress first back in September and then again this week to an important appointment.  By wearing a cami underneath as well as my black boots it transitioned well.  Don’t have a wrap dress yet?  I got you covered, this one is under $40,here’s a great petite version, and this one comes in plus sizes.

Favorite #4: The laughter and joy of children. My 20 month old niece came to visit and I took her to the park in our neighborhood. Seeing the joy on her face as she went down the slide and climbed on the equipment along with her deep, belly laughs was probably my absolute favorite for the entire week. She also enjoys chasing my sweet dog Sophie around with the same excitement. While Sophie may not be nearly as excited she tolerates all the love so well. Indulge me and enjoy these pictures!

Favorite #5: Gifts of kindness. I mentioned in Wednesday’s post that my principal “gifted” our staff with jeans days through Winter break. This gift was better than if she had wrapped a present for each of us individually. Little things like that make a difference. This reminds me that simple gifts are often the best. Here’s what I wore on Tuesday compliments of a school bathroom selfie. Backstory – I hope you appreciate my smile in the picture, I had just finished a social skills group with 9 kindergarten and first grade student and they ran me ragged, lol! I think the radio on my hip makes a nice addition, don’t you?

So there ya have it, five of my favorites from this week.  What do your weekend plans include?  Travel?  Movies?  I am hoping to see Wonder, it looks so good!

Make today great my friends and remember, people don’t care what you know they want to know that you care!

Well Lady Leoprint, I have to agree with you – good people do attract good people. In fact there’s another good person I’m paying homage to on Monday so be sure not to miss it! Okay, you and his Lordship will love the meatballs for sure. I’m making them again this weekend when my college boy gets home! I am so glad you noticed my new hair – I went lighter and shorter! My husband? Has. Not. Noticed. #doghouse
My little niece is the best, she makes my heart happy!!!!Glad you like my pearls, of course I need to ramp up my collection if I’m going to be palling around with the likes of you out here in blogland! You my friend have set the pearl bar quite high.
As always I thank you so much for making my day with your sweet and witty comments!
      Hugs to you,

Oh my sweet friend, thank you for your precious words, they make my heart happy and to know your friendship means the world to me too! Yes, last Friday I was out shopping and the stores were Holiday crazy already. I was so tickled to see my great niece last night. I can imagine what fun and delight you have with yours! Precious! Awwww, thanks friend. You have just the biggest, sweetest heart out there.
Tonight we’re taking our great niece to a party – sounds crazy – but I know she’ll have fun and I just love to be with her.
I hope your sale was fabulously successful!
We’re in the final countdown till our boys come home – yay for us!
      Hugs to you!

I also approve of the Cranberry Meatballs. I made them for the first time last Christmas for a GNO party and they were a hit! Love the pearls, denim and plaid! It’s jeans day for me, too, today and I’m going to enjoy it because ours are few and far between! Have an AWESOME Friday!

Laura I hope you had an awesome Friday! Isn’t it funny how we look forward to wearing jeans to work, like it’s such a special event? I’ll tell ya what, it’s crazy how happy everyone feels at my school if they get an extra jeans day here or there.
I had a Cranberry Pinot Noir Meatball recipe I’ve been making for years but this one has fewer ingredients making it a winner for me. I was so happy my son liked them too.
Have a wonderful weekend my friend!

I am a member of the Andrea fan club too. She really is such a sweet heart. (we need to visit her at her new house😉) Your dress transitions beautifully with the addition of the cami and boots. (I kept trying to figure out what was going on with your phone…LOL. I’m going to get me one of those pop dot thingys when I get my next phone) Your sweet little niece is such a doll baby. There is just nothing sweeter than little laughter and belly laughs. You look very official with the radio on you hip and I love how you added your pearls with your jeans and plaid. Very cute my friend. I kinda want to see Wonder, but I’m just afraid I’d be so sad…I don’t do well with sad movies even if they have a sweet story to them. #whimp Okay girlie. Have the best weekend and enjoy your sweet boy Nolan when he gets there Sunday!!! Love ya’ girl!!!

Okay bestie, let’s book our tickets to Indiana! I say we need a girls trip to celebrate turning 50. The appointment I wore the dress to was a you-know-what I’ve been messaging you about! I’m gonna need to message you to update you, I appreciate your prayers. The radio on my hip does make me look so very official, however, the apron I wear to lunch duty is the real deal, lol! I am completely with you about Wonder – I don’t want to see sad movies either because I cry and it hurts my heart for days afterward but I think this one will be uplifting too so I’m willing to take one for the team. So many of our students will be seeing it. Remember that movie, “Terms of Endearment” that came out when we were teens? I saw it on a first date with a guy I was crazy about. I cried my eyes out – like full on ugly cry with mascara running down my face, so yes, I’m a wimp too.
This weekend will be a busy one, I have tons of cleaning to do before we decorate for Christmas on Sunday. Nolan will either be home tonight or tomorrow. He still hasn’t decided but I hope it’s tonight so we can get started early tomorrow on the decorating. I’m sure your heart is full today with the girls arrival and will be overflowing when Benny gets there Wednesday. We have so much to look forward to don’t we? So blessed are we!
      Love ya friend!

Oh TofE! An ex conned me into watching it, telling me it was a rom com. I was shaken and blubbing like you. He’d got me to watch The Champ around the same time. I decided then and there that I would only watch films that left me feeling good, so it was rom coms for me from them on. No surprise he’s an ex eh?!!

Once again I am so glad I’m in good company! No movies that end sad for me – there has to be something uplifting! All my movie plans for the weekend have not come to fruition. Today we’ve been cleaning and doing projects and tomorrow we’ll be decorating for Christmas. Fingers crossed that this week I can get to the movies to see Wonder!

You are too cute in that bathroom selfie and YES I am sure K and 1st graders can make anyone tired! lol!! Your niece is such a cutiepie! I was just thinking this yesterday when I was out shopping for just regular items, it seriously is Black November now!!

Thanks Carrie! Isn’t it crazy, all the sales already? It takes the fun and excitement out of the whole Black Friday thing for me. When my kids were little I remember heading out early with my girlfriend and getting in line outside of Toys r Us and then standing in the checkout lane for an hour. But it was fun! Oh well, this Friday I am planning to shop online and then spend time with my boys. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

Our town is already feeling overwhelmed with shoppers too. I just cannot stand it! Hope you are able to have a nice relaxing week with your family. Riley should be home by Tuesday and I can hardly wait to have everyone together…it’s been way too long! And seriously….jeans until winter break is an amazing gift! You look too cute in the outfit you put together.

Oh yes, jeans days are everyone’s favorite! I think it’s such a great idea but of course I work with some who look sloppy and wear old, baggy tees and ratty sneakers. You still have to look professional!
I’m so happy you’ll have your whole crew together. What a fun time, I always wanted a big family but my husband wasn’t on the same page, lol. I just think the more the merrier!
Have a wonderful week beautiful, making lots of marvelous memories!
