Wide Leg Pants

Wide leg pants have been on the fashion scene for some time. You might remember this 2 piece outfit I previously shared. The nice thing about a 2 piece outfit is taking it apart and styling it other ways. The opportunities are endless when you give yourself a little time to play in your closet.

The wide leg pants are comfortable and flattering for a number of reasons. They pull on – no zippers or buttons. This pair has a satiny feel so they are soft and lightweight. The waist band sits at your natural waist and since there are no pleats, no zipper bulge, etc. they skim the tummy area.

The first time I shared them, I paired them with the matching blouse. Turned out to be perfect for Christmas! But if you’re like me, you are looking for multiple ways to wear items. Rather than go dressy, this time I thought I’d enjoy these wide leg pants in a more casual way. These are currently on clearance and come in 4 colorways. Originally I purchased a medium but exchanged them for a size small.

Since I carry my weight in my mid section, I am ALWAYS looking to slim that area. In fact, last week I posted a reel with tips on how to look slimmer by dinner, take a look here. Spoiler alert: start with a bodysuit. That’s what I did here. Added a bodysuit and a denim jacket. Haven’t purchased a bodysuit yet? I highly recommend you grab one. They are super comfortable and trust me, easier than you think to wear. Even the bathroom is not an issue – and I dink TONS of water. That equals many, many bathroom trips.

Not ready to take the leap and go for a bodysuit? Here’s another casual option. This time I am wearing a long tunic. This first photo is definitely a NO GO for me. Very few of us can wear a baggy top with baggy bottoms. Changing the proportions is where it’s at!

I tucked my tunic into my bra – all the way around and added sneakers. There was no way I could tuck the tunic into my pants, there’d be way too much fabric and that would add too much volume. This is an easy and simple trick that works so well!

The sneakers add a fun and comfortable vibe. Not all sneakers are created equally nor meant to be worn with your wide leg pants. This type of sneaker works better than this other type. This is why a wardrobe needs more than just one sneaker.

So there you have it, a few different ways to style wide leg pants! Whether you want to dress them up or wear them more casually YOU CAN DO IT!
