Even though weekends aren’t quite what they used to be I still love them! My morning routine has changed a bit in the last few weeks and one good thing is that I’m sleeping a bit longer. Gosh I need my sleep!
So Friday began like most days with my quiet time. I woke up around 6:30, and read my daily devotional and bible. I love this one! Then reading blogs and linking up before finally logging into work.
The mornings have been so nice so I pulled up the day’s workout and headed to the back porch. I did this workout and it felt so good!
The rest of the day was filled with work, and a trip to Walmart that went all kinds of wrong (I shared it on my IG stories). At the end of the workday I sat outside sipping my new favorite cocktail – 1 shot of bourbon and a can of Sprite Zero Ginger with ice. Delish!

We ordered pizza for dinner and ate outside – my very favorite thing to do. I was hoping to play cards with the boys but one still had a paper to finish. My husband and I spent the rest of the night watching The Soprano’s.
Saturday I was up around 6 and the day began in much the same way minus logging into work! After my quiet time and coffee, I hit the back porch to do the workout of the day from my gym. It’s 20 minutes and you do as many rounds as you can – awesome workout!

I ate breakfast and then hit the road for a long walk. We live right next door to the University of Central Florida and I often walk through the campus. I decided to challenge myself with these stairs. My goal is to jog up and down them 10 times but I started with 3 times up and down. No touching the banister! It’s a great challenge and keeps my body guessing.

Once I returned home I soaked in the tub with some epsom salts – the workout, the walk, and the stairs took a toll on this body! I spent the rest of the afternoon, painting my nails ( I am obsessed with this color) , organizing pictures from our trip last fall, and watching movies. On Amazon I watched “Blow the Man Down” and “I See You” – both were very good! I also baked shortbread (my grandmother’s recipe) and made baked beans for dinner.

My husband grilled burgers and we ate outside. After dinner we played a game of cards with the boys – Nerts. It’s fast paced and fun! The link I provided will take you to the rules and all you need is one deck of cards per player. After several rounds – everyone won at least one round – except me – we went inside and watched the movie “Sully” starring Tom Hanks – so good!

Sunday we woke up to a drizzly day. I made biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast. I used Heart Smart Bisquick to make the biscuits. Since it looked like the rain would get worse as the day wore on I went for my walk early. I did get rained on a bit but I got my 10,000 steps in! I have been listening to the podcast Undisclosed. I really enjoy it!

I soaked in the tub for 20 minutes, again with epsom salts. I find it very hard to spend that much time in the tub but that’s what is recommended to get the benefit of the epsom salts. I used to buy Dr. Teal’s bit have found I the Target brand is just as good!
The rest of the day consisted of some laundry, mopping floors, looking at magazines, and watching some tv. I made Shake n Bake pork chops with baked potatoes and veggies for dinner. That’s about it! Did you have a good weekend? I hope so!
This week I am putting together my Easter menu and I look forward to the events my church always holds during holy week. I am grateful that they are streaming all of the services! I’ll be back Wednesday with the Style Six link up!
