Welcome back, friends! Like I mentioned last week, there were just too many outfit ideas for one blog post. So this week I am have more ways to wear black pants for you. Again, I know this is nothing groundbreaking but what I hope you come away from this post with is the idea that you haven’t run out of styling ideas with your black pants. It’s easy to categorize certain pieces into fashion cubby holes and hard to think outside the box. You might have a pair of black pants or trousers that you wear to work only, or maybe it’s a pair you only wear out or on weekends. I say let’s break down those barriers and create even more outfits to keep you feeling fresh and modern.

Ways to Wear Black Pants Part 2
In part 1 of ways to wear black pants I focused heavily on adding a third piece. There’s nothing better than a blazer or jacket to pull a look together. But there are other ways to style this wardrobe staple. So this post will focus on blouses and shirts, along with a sweater or two.
I’ve changed up the black pants too. While last week’s pair was a boot cut denim, this week I am wearing a skinny leg pair from Target. This pair is super comfortable with a bit of stretch and a side zipper.
Black Pants and a Peplum Top
A peplum top is so forgiving. Any bit of tummy is nicely concealed and the fitted waist gives the illusion of an hour glass figure. This one is old but this one is a good option. I may or may not have ordered this one.

Sweater and Black Pants
Definitely not revolutionary BUT, have you tried tucking your sweater? Just a bit? It adds so much more interest than just wearing it untucked. It also elongates the leg. Never have I ever heard anyone say they wish their legs looked shorter.

Black Pants Styled with a Blouse
A pretty, patterned blouse is a nice way to jazz up your black pants. I added my black booties as well. This blouse is old but I really like the wrap style of it – if it didn’t have this detail I would have done some kind of tuck.

Plaid Shirt with Black Pants
A pretty plaid shirt is colorful and festive – I’m thinking of the holidays with this one from JCrew. I debated tucking this one but the fabric is such a good quality cotton and it has a shirttail hem. Paired with the loafers, I like the smart casual vibe. Mine is from last year, I love this year’s version with the white cuff!

Not So Basic Button Down Styled with Black Pants
This pretty white button down with its ruffle detail is far from basic. Even though black and white is such a classic pairing, if you find a basic piece with fun detailing it feels a little more special. I added a lightweight camel sweater to tie around my shoulders.
