Valentine’s Day

Hi friends!
With Valentine’s Day next week I thought it would be fun to dress up.  In preparation for the shoot I scoured Nordstrom’s website to see what might look good on me and at a price point I was comfortable with. Usually Valentine’s Day is pretty casual around here, we make a nice dinner and dessert and enjoy it with our two sons. I expect this year will be very different with our oldest away at school and our younger son preparing for a state robotics competition. He usually pulls pretty late nights leading up to a competition so I’m pretty sure Valentine’s Day isn’t even on his radar. So who knows what we’ll be doing. Truth be told I rate how good a night is according to the time I am able to come home and change into my pjs and wash my face! Seriously if I can be in my pjs with a clean face by 6pm I am one happy girl!

The link for the dress I am wearing, which is now 40% off and under $60!!! My dress! What I love about the dress I chose is the cut. I am not one to go for the body con trend that is very popular right now. This dress is comfortable and I like the flutter sleeves. The dress is versatile enough to be worn casually or dressy. Simply change out the shoes and jewelry. This neckline screams add a statement necklace which is one of my love languages so I’m happy to oblige. I am wearing the necklace my husband is giving me for Valentine’s Day, translation: I totally found it online, bought it, opened it and presented it to him and told him this was my gift. That’s what 23 years of a happy marriage looks like. I don’t expect him to read my mind and know what I want and I know he wants me to be happy so if I see something I get it. Done and done.

Let’s talk about this necklace though because it’s a beauty. I love Baublebar. Their pieces are fun and well made. I had my eye on this type of necklace for awhile and when it popped up on my Instagram and it was on sale I immediately purchased it. If you are new to the statement necklace game this is a great piece to start with because of it’s versatility. It’s actually three necklaces in one, I’ll show you all three ways to wear it. It’s still on sale here! It is under $50 and it is 3 necklaces in one. Get it now. You won’t regret this. This necklace can be worn with a t-shirt and jeans or more formally.
