Today is such a very special day, not just because my precious friend Andrea over at Living on Cloud Nine is hosting our weekly style link up with The Blended Blog but for another reason. Today my dad turns 77! If you are new around here you read this post. It’s such a blessing that my dad is here to see his birthday, I am speechless. Gosh I love him!
Our theme for today is Valentine’s attire or Queen of Hearts (did you just start singing that Juice Newton song circa 1981? If you did, YOU are my people!). So Valentine’s Day is tricky in these parts. Last week was cold this week it’s 80 degrees. How can I plan for what to wear a week from now? Options. Choices. That’s what I’m going with. The other thing about dressing for Valentine’s Day? You have to feel good! It doesn’t have to be red, pink, or covered in hearts – wear what you feel confident and beautiful in! I decided to share several looks with you that all feature my new red pants from Loft!
You know how much I love to be inspired by other bloggers, right? Well on Monday I was blown away by this red on red look by Emma of Style Splash. So here’s my red on red! My faux wrap blouse in red is from Nordstrom but it’ sold. In all the photos I am wearing my nude strappy sandals purchased at Dillard’s. I grabbed my leopard clutch it’s from Nordstrom and the brand is Sole Society. My tortoise shell link necklace was a gift and so on trend! Thank you Andrea!
Pink and red are such a cheery combination and not just for conversation hearts! You can wear them together too! This time with my red pants I added my hot pink blouse from Express. Again, it’s years old. I like these bright colors together! I added my favorite pom pom clutch from Accessory Concierge.
If you’d rather play it safe, my white blouse will do the trick. This blouse is from Amazon but Nordstrom has many options as well. Remember I told you last week that the tie on these pants is removable? Well why not add a leopard belt? Mine is from Amazon and of course I forgot to put it on. The sun was setting quickly while taking these pictures last night.
We have reservations for dinner and I think I’ll be more comfortable in pants than in a dress, but that’s just me! The restaurant isn’t super fancy and if it’s nice out we love to sit outside. What are your plans? Do you know what you’ll wear yet? Need more inspiration? Check out our link up! Head over to Andrea’s blog or The Blended Blog to add your link and check out some other posts!
Friends, thank you so much for reading and for all of your wonderful comments. You are a ray of sunshine! Hope to see you back here on Friday for some exciting Friday Favorites!
