Two Pieces Three Ways

When I put this outfit on I just knew the pieces would lend themselves well to multiple stylings! Don’t you just love it when that happens? Honestly, I’ve seen an abundance of two piece sets lately so it got me thinking that I am not the only one excited about them, even though today I am sharing two pieces three ways trust me there are endless opportunities to wear these pieces.

Two Pieces Three Ways

Obviously the easiest way to wear a two piece outfit is how it was intended, wear the set! I really liked the fact that the shirt is a button up and fits loosely. The shorts have a drawstring waist and pockets. The fabric is lightweight and perfect in the heat. Once this outfit arrived I gave it a quick steam and it was ready to go!

I left the shirt untucked for these photos but check out my Instagram to see some other ways to wear it! Turns out the shirt looks great tucked in and belted too. Adding a belt always elevates a look in my opinion and defines your waist. It all depends on your preference and comfort level – when it’s hot and steamy outside I don’t want anything touching my waist.

Break Up the Pieces

Unlike a romper, two piece sets can be broken up and you can wear the pieces separately. Since this set has a fun print but the colors are very basic and neutral, I kept the color scheme the same. It’s simple and easy styling!

The basic black shirt is a great starting point. It’s also part of a 2 piece set! It’s comfortable and lightweight so once again, perfect in the heat. Rather than a black t-shirt, the button up is a little more elevated (well, as elevated as you can get wearing drawstring shorts).

While I still kept this casual with sandals, the black shirt works under a blazer. I’d swap out the shoes for a pair of sling backs – again, check my Instagram.

In theory I really like this top with these linen shorts – in fact, I like the outfit. Minus the bag. It didn’t read quite so white in real life but it clashes when I look at the photos. Typically I’d go for a more fitted bottom or top with this shirt and these particular shorts. But this is giving me the relaxed summer vibes – and also a little bit of 80’s vibes. I kinda feel like I am channeling Magnum PI – ha!!!

I think you get the picture though, mixing and matching the pieces stretches your wardrobe and adds new life to old pieces. If you’re looking for maximum versatility then opt for two piece sets over rompers, dresses, and jumpers.

My two piece set is from Brindle Boutique. I am really happy to have the chance to work with them and to offer you a 25% discount – that is HUGE! With my code KELLY you can save 25% site wide. I am wearing a size medium for reference. I’ve also rounded up some other two piece shorts sets you might enjoy!
