Trending: Tweed & Style Six Link Up

Do you cringe when you hear the word “trend”? Does it conjure up images of items you’ll wear a season or two and then pitch? Are we too old for trends? For me the answer to those questions is yes and no. I pick and choose which trends I’ll partake in and usually I base that decision on a few things. I ask myself if the trend works with my lifestyle and body type (you will NEVER see me in a crop top because I do not have the midsection for that business) another consideration is longevity. So last year I said yes to tweed and I am thrilled to see it’s trending again this year!

Last spring I had to have this tweed jacket. The colors and the cut spoke to me and it was priced right! Remember this photo from last year when I met up with my friend Paula?Tweed jacket + denim

This year I’ll change it up a bit and wear it more casually. I really like it with shorts!Tweed Jacket + Shorts

I love being able to shop my closet! Nothing new but taking old pieces and putting them together in a new way feels fresh!

Sometimes we think tweed is for business suits only and may be a little too dressy for every day wear. Pairing the jacket with a simple button up shirt and cuffing it adds a more casual vibe. Of course distressed denim does the trick too! I love my new jeans and sandals with this jacket.Tweed Jacket + Distressed Denim

I wore this on Monday night to bingo! While I didn’t win at bingo my outfit was a winner! Tweed Jacket + Distressed Denim

My jacket is obviously sold out from last year but this one is a great option and a great price. Tweed dresses and skirts have caught my eye too but they don’t work for my current lifestyle. I am still trying to train my brain to make better buying decisions. I have a heart that loves all the professional work wear but since I work from home I don’t have the need. There are lots of affordable pieces if you’d like to give tweed a try!

Thank you to everyone who linked up with us last week! My favorite post was this one from Highland Fashionista. I love the hat! I was not able to upload the photo but click on the link and check it out, she looks fabulous!
