Three No Fail Holiday Outfit Ideas

Today I have three no fail holiday outfits to share with you. As the days are flying by it’s crunch time so if you find yourself needing something to wear, I’ve got you covered!

Three No Fail Holiday Outfit Ideas

What makes these three ideas no fail is that regardless of where you’re going at least one will work. The best part is that you most likely have the pieces in your closet, so start there!

Holiday Outfit Idea #1

Never underestimate the power of plaid! A plaid shirt or blouse says holiday like no other print or pattern. Plaid can be dressed up or down. The three plaid shirts/blouses I am sharing are all old but I have linked very similar ones. The first blouse is a favorite for sure as the fabric has just a bit of sheen to it and the ruffle detail at the neckline elevates the look. I wore it with simple navy skinny pants and red pumps. My red suede pumps are from Walling Cradles, but this pair is very similar!

This short sleeved plaid blouse is two years old from Loft. They have the same style again this year and I am so glad to see that – it’s such a good blouse! I paired it with faux leather trousers and black pumps.

JCrew makes a great button down. This shirt was purchased after Christmas last year and the cotton is so nice and thick – it really makes such a difference. It’s definitely the kind of button down that can be worn casually with denim or with a skirt or blouse.

Holiday Outfit Idea #2

A sweater dress with the right accessories can be the answer to what to wear, especially if it’s cold outside. Depending on the temperature, you can wear heels or boots. The secret ingredient is accessories! Add something sparkly to elevate the sweater dress and you can’t go wrong – no fail for sure. It is seasonally appropriate and unless you are baking cookies, I think this would work for your holiday plans!

Express Black Sweater Dress + Pumps
December, 2021

Gibsonlook calls this a sweater dress but it’s more of a knit dress in my opinion. No matter what you call it, I think it would be perfect for the holidays! You can wear it on or off the shoulder, with boots or heels – so versatile!

Holiday Outfit Idea #3

Pull out that fancy blouse, you know the one – it’s satin, silk, or sparkly. It will be the hero piece in your outfit and can have you looking holiday ready in no time. My pink halter blouse is from Gibson Look, the blue on is from Target and Express has one too. Actually the Express version is marked down and looks so much like the pricier Gibson Look top.

I cannot say enough good things about my sparkly kitten heels from Vionic. The heel height is perfect and the pointy toe elongates the leg! They look great with my bag from Amazon.

There ya have it, three no fail outfit formulas for any holiday occasion! Play around in your closet and see what you have that can be used to create an outfit that’s all your own!
