The start of school is just around the corner, in fact I head back to school on Monday. Usually back to school signals the start of Fall – kind of silly since Fall doesn’t officially begin until September 22. Even sillier, it’s still super hot here until well after that so buying Fall clothes to head back to school is completely unnecessary. Summer is still in full force here so for now I’m going to think pink and wear my favorite color as much as possible!
I found this top at a local boutique – ModMarket for you local gals. Boutiques are fun to shop, sometimes you find one of a kind pieces that help you stand out. Because space is limited in boutiques there are often sales because they are trying to move inventory quickly. My top was on a 30% off rack, too good to be true! I love the color, bright pink is my very favorite color – and the detail on the hem. Of course hot pink goes with everything but to keep things cool I wore it a pair of white shorts and my new favorite wedges. Take a look:
As you can see it has a tie front that I chose to leave untied. The necklace I am wearing was also purchased at ModMarket. I have actually been on the hunt for a pink necklace so I was thrilled to find this one!

These wedges are a lot like wearing Birkenstocks but in a nice, high wedge form. Actually I think I could wear them to work but change them for the hour I am doing lunch duty. Mostly because the floor is so hard and I have to move quickly and don’t want to fall! I am finding the older I get the more expensive my shoes have become. That’s not all bad I guess because I am now buying fewer pairs so my closet space (or lack thereof) is thanking me. You know I’ve come to realize that while I honestly don’t mind getting older the things I miss the most are my old feet and my old eyes that didn’t require glasses! Those two issues have seriously been the hardest for me. I miss the old days when I could grab a pair of shoes because I liked the style and if they fit I bought them. I can no longer flippantly buy a pair of shoes and I am having a hard time letting go of shoes that are no longer comfortable. Won’t my feet ever feel better? Sigh.
