Hi friends!
I thought you might enjoy a peek at what I wear to work. I’ve mentioned before that I am an elementary school counselor. That means I don’t have to dress for a corporate environment (Amen!) and at least a few days a week call for pretty casual attire. I have also come to the realization that if in fact I want to be serious about blogging I’ll need to up my social media presence and blog more than once a week. So I made a promise to myself that each day this last week I’d take a selfie and post it on Instagram (you can follow me there @thisblondesshoppingbag and also blog about what I wore (original, huh?).
Onto the goods. Here’s the thing, this week we celebrated Literacy Week with themed days. And listen, I don’t usually participate in all that business #partypooper. I was pleasantly surprised by the themes this week, they weren’t too crazy and I actually dressed according to the theme 3 of the 5 days. Winner! As a side note it’s our student council that decides the themes, this year I wasn’t the sponsor but I have been the Student Council sponsor for the last 7 years. Hmmmmmm, makes me wonder, how about you?
So Monday was Team Sports Day. It was also kinda cold. So, yeah, I was wearing clothes I hardly get to wear because it’s always so hot. I love wearing white denim in the Fall and Winter. I paired my white denim with my favorite blush colored blouse from Loft and my cargo vest. Keepin’ my feet comfy in my Lucky Brand booties. I wore my Stella and Dot ladder necklace and my favorite leopard cuff (because I can’t quit it).
Tuesday was Hat Day. Again, it was kind cool outside so I jumped at the chance to wear my OTK boots and my favorite hat (years old from Target). The dress I am wearing from Old Navy – last year. I loved how cute and comfy this outfit was. I had a hard time taking the picture so there are two. One I took before work and one I took after work. I think I’m gonna need a new house if I’m gonna blog. One with better lighting. #husbandgetrightonthat
Moving on to Wednesday, Black Out Day. Yup, turn off your electronics and read. Riiiiiiiight. In our county we use a computer program like it’s the Bible so good luck with that #conflictingmessages. Snarkiness aside I was thrilled for a 3rd cool day and a chance to wear my beloved faux leather leggings, a tunic, and the gorgeous scarf I received as a Christmas gift from a new friend. If you haven’t gotten these leggings yet I don’t know what you’re waiting for, they are so good!
On Thursday it was wear red day. So I wore a red top I purchased from SheIn – I have mentioned SheIn before on the blog. Trendy pieces at very low prices. I loved the sleeves on this top but I’m not a huge fan of the back. I took a picture so you could see, I had to wear a tank because it’s cut a little too low. Not a problem when a cool front rolls through but when the weather warms I probably won’t be reaching for this one. I am wearing jeans from Target, and I have to tell you they are super comfortable. I’ve had them for over a year now and they’ve held up great. They are lightweight and stretchy. For the pictures I wore leopard heels because this outfit needed something interesting. In real life I wore a pair of comfortable wedges. I grabbed my Kendra Scott necklace and my favorite leopard cuff from Accessory Concierge, I think I wear it at least three times a week if not more.
Finally Friday! It was Pajama Day but I had to attend an inservice at our district office so I chose comfortable layers instead. My favorite pair of Vigoss jeans along with one of my favorite tunics, a sweater to match and an infinity scarf turned out to be just as comfy as pjs (almost). Again my leopard cuff and simple earrings with comfortable booties. I actually got a compliment on the elevator as I was headed to the inservice which is always nice. I took these pictures after school and by that time it was warm enough to ditch the sweater. I wore the tunic untucked but in one picture I did a half tuck (front only) so you could get an idea of what that would look like.
So there you have it, a week of what I wore! Most of what I wore is old so I’ll link similar pieces. This is a longer post than usual so thank you for sticking with me. That’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag, what’s in yours? Linking up with Patti for Visible Monday here
