The Look for Less

Did you ever see the show “The Look for Less”? I think it was on E! I was obsessed, but I loved all the makeover shows #ripwhatnottowear. I’m a follower of lots of blogs and I find them to be such a source of inspiration. Lots of times what I am inspired by is out of my price range but there are so many great places to shop online that it’s easy to find similar pieces to fit any budget.

Here’s my outfit and below that my inspiration:

Check out For the Love to read the original post. It’s beautiful and so is she!

Pleated skirts have been on my radar for awhile now. I love all the fabulous, sparkly fabrics for the holidays. If only I had places to wear these beauties I’d be scooping them up!

Take a look at these beauties:

Aren’t they gorgeous? If I had a special event coming up I wouldn’t mind investing in one of these skirts.  But since I like the look so much I knew I could re-create it for a fraction of the cost.

So here’s what I did.  I shopped at Shein for a skirt and found this one and it was only $22! The next piece, my camisole, I already owned but this one is similar. I found this faux leather moto jacket and bought it during a promotion. Although I own a pair of leopard heels mine just didn’t look right. I ordered this pair from DSW and I am so pleased, they are actually comfortable and just under $40!

Here’s a close up of the shoes:

Although I dressed up my skirt in this outfit, pleated skirts look great dressed down too! I’m scheming other ways to style my skirt. In the meantime, this outfit works well for lots of occasions this time of year!

The jacket will be great once it finally cools off, for the price this one can’t be beat! It’s so easy to style with a basic tee or cami. Just add a little sparkle with a statement necklace and I believe you have a winner!
Before I go I want to share a few more skirts with you. These are from Target and I am seriously crushing on the crushed velvet, blush colored skirt!

Do you ever re-create an inspiration outfit for less? It’s one of my very favorite things to do. I am pleased with the final result of my outfit and the pieces can be worn lots of different ways. I hope you’re inspired to do the same. You can look fabulous no matter what your budget is!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, it seriously means so much to me. I’m working on a Thanksgiving wrap up post so stay tuned. Next week you’ll get to see inside my home as I take you on a holiday tour! Fingers crossed the final steps are taken to complete our kitchen reno!

I hope you have the best day ever and remember kindness doesn’t cost a thing but it pays extremely high dividends!
